One of the most iconic creatures inDragon’s Dogma 2outside the titular Dragon and Griffins is the Cyclops. These one-eyed, towering monsters are often one of the first real bosses a player will face, and give you a great understanding of how grabbing onto monsters is a key strategy.
You’ll have to face down more than a couple of Cyclops if you want to progress, and if you want to get these materials to enhance your armor and weapons. They may seem intimidating thanks to their size and fearsome attacks, but if you know how to handle them, they’re an easy fight.

Where To Find Cyclops
Cyclops can befound in many areasof Vermund and Battahl, and one of thefirst ones you’ll fightisduring the One Eyed Interloper quest.
Most often you’llfind them in forested locations, such as in eastern Vermund, and you’lloften hear them before you see them, since they’ll be stomping around or hitting into trees.

Non-Armored Cyclopsare morecommon in Vermund, while Armored Cyclops are most common in Battahl.
Somespecific locationsthat they spawn at include:
Cyclops can also appear during a raidwhile you’re riding an Ox Cart, orcome into Vermundto attack randomly.
How To Kill Cyclops
Cyclops are big, dangerous enemies, and there aretwo variants you’ll seethroughout the game:unarmored Cyclopsandarmored Cyclops.
There arealmost no differencesbetween the twoin terms of tactics, as they have the same attacks, and the only real difference ishow easy it is to damage their vulnerable spots, and their damage.

It’spossible to cause Cyclops to fall into bodies of wateror down onto much lower ground to kill them instantly.
How To Kill Non-Armored Cyclops
If the Cyclopsdoesn’t have any armor, you’re in for aneasier fightwith them. Cyclops of any kind havethree main vulnerable spotsthat you’llwant to aim forregardless of class:
If you’re aclose-range VocationlikeWarriororThief, you’ll want to eitherattack their legs normallyorgrab onto their legs and hit them.

Doingenough damage to their legswill cause them tobecome unbalanced, and you can thenpush themuntil they fall, giving you and your pawnseasy access to their eye, and it has a chance to make them drop their weapon.
Damage to the legsis also going to distract them from swinging andcause them to use shorter-range stomping attacksinstead of swinging their club.
Forlong-range VocationslikeArcherorMage, you canaim directly at the eyewith arrows or spells for increased damage, and attacking this area alsogives you a chance to stun it briefly.
It’s alsopossible to climb up onto its headvia its back and legs, andaim for the eyethis way while doing damage on the way up, but yourun the risk of the Cyclops flinging you off.
You canuse your Health and Stamina healing shortcutsto heal yourselfwhile you’re climbing up a Cyclopsor other large enemy, so you can stay on longer and do more damage.
Disarming the Cyclops byattacking its arm with spells, arrows, or while climbingcan alsodiable its weapon attacks briefly, and give you achance for some free damagewhen it pauses to get its weapon back.
How To Kill Armored Cyclops
When dealing with an armored Cyclops, thestrategies are generally the same, but with additional danger. Like before, you’ll want toaim for its eye and legsprimarily, but this can bedifficult due to its armor.
Armored Cyclops will generallyhave armor on up to four placeson their bodies:
Running intomost types of a Cyclops' armor will damage youand cause slight knockback.
If they’vegot any kind of armoron, you’ll want toaim for the armored spotsandknock the armor offto reveal their vulnerable spots, or else you won’t be doing much damage, and you won’t be able to grab onto itnearly as much. This can be done in a few ways:
Getting a Cyclops off balance andpushing it over can break off most of its armorand make it drop its weapon.
Armored Cyclops willuse the same attacksas regular Cyclops, butdepending on whether they’re carrying a spiked club, they’ll be doingmore damage and have slightly more rangeon their swings.
