The Cosmo Canyon Region inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthis home to many powerful fiends that spice up the combat with their Fiend Intel objectives. However, the most daunting Fiend won’t be encountered at one of the Fiend Intel locations. To challenge Cosmo Canyon’s greatest warrior, aside from Red XIII, of course, you’ll need to locate this region’s Classified Intel mission.
It’s during this mission that you’ll face off against the Jabberwock, a fearsome Dragon that’s lived in Cosmo Canyon for centuries. Despite being a dragon, this beast can’t handle fire. Quick movements and strong Fire Materia is all you need to defeat this Fiend.
Where To Find The Jabberwock
Before you may fight the Jabberwock, youneed to complete every Expedition Intel missionin Cosmo Canyon. After completing the final Expedition Intel mission,Chadley will reveal the Jabberwock’s locationas a Classified Intel mission.
The Classified Intel mission islocated in southeastern Cosmo Canyon, inside a cave. The cave is right behind one of the fans used for gliding with Chocobo. After heading into the cave,hold Triangle to summon the dragonand begin the fight.

Proportional Damage, Silence, Sleep, Petrify, Stone
Inflicting heavy damage or using Fire while Gorgon Shield is active will pressure and remove the Jabberwock’s shield.
The Jabberwock’s Fire weakness is easy toexploit with some Fire Materia.It’s worthpairing that Fire Materia with Elemental Materia on Cloud’s weaponto continually deal fire damage throughout the fight.The Ifrit Summon Materiais another great way to dish out some fire-based damage.
If your Fire Materia is a bit weak,consider pairing it with a Level Boost Materiato get access to Fira or Firaga.
Hitting the Jabberwock with fire while Gorgon Shield is activewill pressure the beast.Physical attacks are useless when Gorgon Shield is active, so you need to rely on magic attacks anyway.Consider bringing along Yuffie for her Ninjutsu or Aerithfor her ranged magical attacks.
The Jabberwock is alsocapable of inflicting your party with Stone, so equip Cleansing Materia on one of your party members.Equip the Jeweled Ring and Safety Bitaccessories to become immune to Stone. You can alsouse Golden Needles and Remediesto remove Stone.
ItsSeismic Wave and Raze attacks have a huge rangedenoted by their yellow aura.Tifa and Red XIII are capable of dodging these attackswith their high speed. You can also dodge Seismic Wave and Raze withYuffie’s Brumal Form, but the timing is very strict.
