As you make your way to the top of Tartarus inPersona 3 Reload, you’ll have to fight many bosses that test your strength and skill. Every few milestone floors, a new one will appear. Usually, you’ll have the chance to return to the entrance and swap out party members for an ideal arrangement. The last three bosses, however, offer no such opportunity.
The Genocidal Mercenary is the last of the Gatekeeper bosses you’ll face in the Adamah block, and it comes immediately after two other bosses. Here’s everything you need to know to defeat the Genocidal Mercenary and reach the top!
Genocidal Mercenary Overview
The last boss you’ll fight in the Adamah block is onfloor 255 of Tartarus, right before the cutoff to the summit. TheGenocidal Mercenary has no weaknessesand reflects several types of damage, so you’ll have to get creative with how you take it down.

Best Party Composition
For this battle, you’ll be dealing withthe same party you’ve hadfor the Cultist of Death and Hedonistic Sinner Gatekeepers. While you won’t be able to swap out party members, here are some tips that can help youplan accordingly with different members of the partywho might beput at risk:
Make sure to bring Personas that can help you buff your party members and debuff Genocidal Mercenary!Almighty attacks cannot be blocked, but buffs can help minimize the damage.
How To Beat Genocidal Mercenary
To defeat the Genocial Mercenary, you’ll need to be patient. While the bossdoesn’t have the skills to target specific weaknesses, Megidolaon is a powerful attack thatcannot be blocked.
Instead, focus onincreasing your defense–and decreasing Genocidal Mercenary’s attack. Make sure tocure any status ailmentsas they are inflicted so that you don’t lose or waste any turns.
You’ll spend most of this battlechipping away at the shadow’s HP, so utilize Theurgy to ignore resistances and take out more chunks of health. Keep at it and heal when necessary, and you’ll emerge victorious.
