As you progress through Fevrith, the world ofUnicorn Overlord, you’ll come across plenty of quests that serve to claim regions of the map, dispelling the dangerous random encounters and letting you access new settlements, resource nodes, and points of interest. Sometimes, these quests are quite involved, relating to your teammates and their pasts.
As the Tricorns Ride is an early game sidequest located to the south of your starting location. A brief cutscene will reveal more of Travis’s background and introduce you to the boss of today’s battle: Bruno. This battle serves as an important introduction to the Gladiator class, a very bulky foe.

The time limit expires
You’re up against two new classes here:Gladiatorsand GryphonKnights.
We recommend the following formations to take down this battle cleanly:
Back Row
Clive
This is a general all-rounder formation that has Clive to easily take down thetower full of Archers. MakeClivethe leader for extra movement speed.
Rolf
Aubin
Lex is here to soak up damage, while Rolf is there to deal with Gryphons. This formation should be directed to theGryphon enemiesas soon as possible.
Travis
Chloe
This is yourGladiator killer. Travis’sPassive Stealwill fire first, stealing away a Gladiator’s healing ability. These units all have full rows in them too, which makes Chloe’sLong Thrustmore useful. Josef is there for raw damage.

How To Beat The Tricorns Ride
As you start with three Valor points, there’s no harm indeploying all three of your formations immediately. Your command post is very close to a Gladiator formation - send yourGladiator Killersat it and mop it up - it should go down quickly.
The next units, however, are more generic - send your other formations to take these down - you want tosave your Gladiator Killers' Stamina.

After mopping up the generic, roaming units, send your Gladiator Killer formation to Thulust Harborin the west, and yourArcher formation to the Gryphon Knightson the bridge. Rolf alone should be enough to take them down.
Don’t forget to pick up the shining item to the right of the bridge - it’s4,000G War Funds.

With those targets cleaned up, make sure youclaim Thulust Harborwith your Gladiator Killer formation to recover some Stamina and get someSmoked Nuts, and then send them down to the southern bridge, which is held by another Gladiator unit.
Your other two units, on the other hand, shouldhead towards the east. SendClive to the towerto take care of the Archers first, and thentake on the Gryphon Knights at the fort with Rolf. If you’re lucky with hit rates, you might be able to deal with both units in one battle, but you might need two if any units miss. Don’t neglect the item pickup next to the tower, which contains aLiquid Fortune.

As your Gladiator Killer proceeds south, they’ll uncover the proceeding unit of Gladiators. Luckily, they’re weak and easily dealt with. Make sure you nab theRevival Orb (S)next to the crumbling house on the southern side of the bridge and thentake Bruno on.
What makes Bruno tough is that he hastwo PP, which means he canheal up from two attacks per battlerather than the Gladiator’s usual one. This makes Travis necessary to beat him with little effort, asPassive Stealwill take both PP from him in a single strike.
As the boss,Bruno will take a few battles to kill, but the unit suggested above is bulky enough to survive with ease. As a reward, you’ll get aBrown Beret, which is a nice accessory for your physical units.
The following cutscenes will explain more about Travis and Bruno’s shared past, as well as tease a later character: Berengaria. For completing the side quest, you’ll be rewarded with aRecruit’s Shortsword, a Light Feather, and the Tricorn Mercenaries heraldry, in addition to 15 Renown. Bruno himself will also join up.
