Activision Blizzard’s new and limited-time event,World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm, brings an exciting new game mode for everyone to try. The Plunderstorm event gives fans their own version of a battle royale with World of Warcraft’s dynamic gameplay.

Other than picking up items randomly on the ground, like in a normal battle royale game, the event has a very different way of acquiring loot and power. Most of these loots strengthen your character by offering offensive, defensive, and utility skills.

But, how do you actually get these skills and abilities much faster than others? Here are all the details regarding World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm’s gameplay mechanics.

Items

One

You start a game with no skills and abilities but with a total of five open slots.Only four out of the five slots are available for abilities, two for each type. To fill these slots with abilities, you have to either farm enemies or open supply chests to get skills to drop.

For enemies, you are looking for NPC mobs. There are normal enemies, which havea low chance of dropping skills, and there are elite enemies, which have aguaranteed chance of dropping something great, whether it is a bunch of experience points or a random common skill.

Other than fighting players, you want to fight these enemies to get more abilities and also level up. You can fight other players and get their abilities since if they die, they’ll drop everything they have. But, you always want to fight with an advantage, so it is best toset your sights on getting some great skills first.

Apart from farming NPC mobs, skills and abilities also drop from random Supply Chests around the map. These Supply Chests or even the Golden Chests do not guarantee a skill or ability to drop. However, you can expect some plunder or experience points if these chests don’t drop any skill.

The skills you want will depend on your playstyle, but generally, you want to have a mix of offensive and defense skills. There is noperfect way to play Plunderstorm, but with more experience, you get to see which skills are the perfect fit for you.

If you have just landed in an area, and you see enemy players, you want to farm some NPCs first before fighting these players. Even if they are there with you, focus on the NPCs to get skills and level up, because a good player will kite their way out of trouble early on, wasting both of your time in the process.

Windstorm

Winds form in front of you, and then they surge forward, damaging and stunning the first enemy they hit.

The key takeaways from these skills and abilities are thatoffensive skills do damage while utility skills have a mix of offense and defense. Most utility skills are taken for their mobility, but some players love to play offensively and use skills like Snowdrift, Hunter’s Chains, or even Windstorm to boost their damage even more.

Some offensive skills also have some mobility, which should be considered as a utility skill too. Skills like Fire Whirl do incredible damage while giving you a great mobility boost at the same time. However, if your goal is to be the champion, your build needs to be powerful in a one versus one situation when the storm shrinks, and you have to battle the only remaining enemy player.

There are a lot of different combinations, but you generally want to have good mobility if you get into trouble. No amount of offensive power can save you from a two versus one situation, but with mobility, you can turn the tide by making them fight each other instead, because they can’t chase you down.

How To Upgrade Your Skills And Abilities

Upgrading your skills involves some luck becauseyou have to get the abilities you want multiple times. As you can see from the table above, there are many abilities in the game which affects how often these skills and abilities drop for players.

To upgrade your skill, you want to have a specific skill equipped and then take the same skill from the ground. The game automatically upgrades your skills. Skills start as common and move their way up to uncommon, rare, and epic, respectively, andupgrades occur when you get the same skill over and over again.

Most players don’t mind upgrading their skills as they focus on leveling, getting an advantage over other players and stealing their upgraded skills from anyone they defeat in PVP.

If you look at players fighting, you can easily see what skills they are using. If you see what you need, you can fight players who have the same ability as you, so you can upgrade your skill by defeating enemies.

Not only that,it is much easier to win fights if you enter a fight against damaged foes.
