If there’s one game that has been burned into the zeitgeist of gaming history, it isFinal Fantasy 7. The epic saga of Cloud Strife and his friends against the fallen hero Sephiroth in a desperate fight to save the planet is a timeless story, one that has been getting a fantastic reimagining with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy Rebirth games.
It turns out, one massive game isn’t enough for this JRPG protagonist. Cloud Strife has been featured and made cameos in tons of games, some officially, while others have only been hints and references. Official Final Fantasy 7 Games
The greater Final Fantasy 7 universe brings together not only the main games, but also a series of mobile games, spin-off games, minigames, and even a sequel film. To understand the full story of Cloud’s life, you’ll want to play all these games, though they are not all essential. The bulk of Cloud’s story is covered in the main Final Fantasy 7. Many of the other games in the universe feature other characters in the spotlight, withCloud either stepping in to assist his friends, or he’s just a background character.
Of the official Final Fantasy 7 games, Cloud appears in six of them, though there are other tie-in games that don’t affect the main story.

What Other Square Enix Games Are Cloud Strife In?
Cloud isn’t exclusive to just the Final Fantasy 7 universe, he’s made plenty of appearances in other games from the famed publisher of the Final Fantasy games, and not just in Final Fantasy games. Among the most popular games that Cloud hasfound himself in include Kingdom Heartsand an old arcade fighting game called EHRGEIZ: God Bless the Ring. These games are ones that directly feature Cloud as either a playable character or one that’s collectible in some way shape or form.
Because some games, like those in theKingdom Heartsfranchise, have had multiple releases, compilations, remakes, and remasters, we chose to list those as just one game. This list adds 35 games to Cloud’s list, bringing the running total up to 46, but we’re not done yet. Cloud Strife’s Cameos
Unofficially,Cloud has also popped up in other games and media over the years, his influence on popular culture spreading to other series in one way or another. Sometimes, these little cameos are due to tie-ins and promotions, while other times it is just a fun throwback to the developer’s favorite series and character. For some of these games, like in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Cloud himself doesn’t make an appearance directly, and instead is available as a costume while in other games, like the Final Fantasy Origins collection, he’s indirectly referenced by being an example name for the Warrior class character. Some of these games are going to be official Square Enix games, but don’t feature Cloud directly.
