Task Force X, also known asthe Suicide Squad, is primarily dominated by DC supervillains from all walks of life. Really, the only thing that they usually have in common is that they’re incredibly dangerous people and that they’re being housed in the Belle Reve Prison (unless, of course, you’re leading Task Force X).
The Suicide Squad was put together by Amanda Waller to take on some incredibly dangerous missions, which means it, understandably, has a high turnover rate. Some members simply leave, while others are left to die, either betrayed on the field by their fellow members or by self-sacrifice. Either way, this isn’t a group project you want to be part of.

116 Members Of the Suicide Squad
The Suicide Squad has seen 116 members, though most of them weren’t there for more than one or two appearances. Since the creation of the Suicide Squad in the late 1950s, it’s gone through more than a few supervillains, some of whom have gone out in horrifying ways. The current roster features six members: Bizarro, Black Alice, Clock King, Deadeye, Dreamer, and Harley Quinn.
At Least 77 Members Have Died
It’s true that Task Force X has an apt nickname, given thatat least 77 members of the Suicide Squad have died. Sure, they may have been resurrected later on, but they still died at least once. Rarely are they nice ways to go out, either. Some members were betrayed on the field by others, were eaten alive by ants, or were blown up by a nuke in at least one case.
If they didn’t die to one of their field members, then they might have died to the brain bombs implanted in them, used to keep them in line. Unfortunately, the presence of this bomb doesn’t quite stop every member from acting out, and at least seven have died from this - with one almost-member dying from it accidentally exploding during the surgery.
Who Are The Top Five Members?
Of course, not everyone dies in the Suicide Squad and it does see its fair share of returning members. There are a few who have been around for a while and don’t seem like they’re going to be going anywhere anytime soon.Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and Harley Quinn take the lead for the top threesupervillain appearances in the squad, and in that order.
Deadshot seems like an almost constantly visible presence on the Suicide Squad and for good reason: he almost never seems to be away from it.Rick Flag takes fourth placefor the most appearances, and while he isn’t necessarily a supervillain, he is an essential member as their field leader.Enchantress, who made an appearance in the 2016 movie, takes fifth placefor the most appearances.
About 7 Different People Have Led The Suicide Squad
Depending on how you’d define the term “leader"there have been six-seven actual field leaders of the Suicide Squad. Amanda Waller, though the director and the one who puts the team together, never actually takes a roll as the field leader.Rick Flag, however, is almost always presentas the field leader of the team despite not really being a criminal.
When Rick Flag can’t be there to lead the team, others have taken his place, including Cameron Chase. Chase spent a laughably short time leading, given that almost as soon as they were out on the field, the team betrayed her by tossing her off a cliff.
