Summary
Nintendoheld an Indie World to show off independent games coming to theSwitchover the next few months, and as always,Hollow Knightfans got their hopes up.Hollow Knight: Silksongwas rated in Korea and Australia very recently which convinced many of us this week’s Indie World would be where the sequel finally got a release date.Of course that wasn’t the case, and if you’re looking for a way to ease the pain, or you want to know why we’re all so excited for more Hollow Knight, you can pick up the first game on Switch for less.
The price of the Switch version of Hollow Knight has been cut in half, potentially as a way for Team Cherry and Nintendo to stave off the backlash that has come with another showcase coming and going with no sign of its sequel. Despite turning seven this year, the original Hollow Knight absolutely holds up and is as good today as it has ever been. Particularly on Switch, even if you have played it on another platform, as its graphics aren’t demanding and it means you can play the game on the go.

Even at full price on Switch, Hollow Knight is only $15 and an absolute steal for a game of this quality. Paying just $7.50 for it almost feels like you’re doing something wrong. You can add the game to your Switch collection through the Nintendo eShop via the link in the box below. The deal will be live until the early hours of the morning on April 24, but even if you’re reading this after that, it’s still worth picking up Hollow Knight for full price.
Hollow Knight
WHERE TO PLAY
A Metroidvania adventure, Hollow Knight is a challenging 2D platformer that sees you play as the Knight as he wanders the grey environments of the Hallownest. You must battle the infected insects who reside there and discover a way to reverse the decay that pervades everything.
Silksong will be here eventually, so even if it does feel like you’ve still got all the time in the world to play the first time before its sequel gets here, there has never been a better time while it’s available for 50 percent off. As for Silksong, the Hollow Knight follow-up started life as DLC for the base game. However, it quickly became big enough to be its own game, and Team Cherry confirmed it would be a full sequel more than five years ago.
