Every single year, we hype ourselves up, don our clown makeup, and wait for news onHollow Knight: Silksong. We’ve been given a release window that hascome and gone, and official updates have been few and far between. Now, with another Nintendo Direct rumoured to take place soon, it looks like fans are running out of hope.

On the Silksong subreddit, fans are joking about things they’re willing to sacrifice to the powers that be, in the hopes that it will grant them news on the game. One of the most popular suggestions seems to be the subreddit itself, with Hollow Knight fans willing to make the ultimate community sacrifice in the hopes of just getting a trailer.

As spotted byGamesRadar+, r/silksong is a wonderful mess right now, full of posts about the supposed sacrifice of the subreddit.

This isn’t all that r/silksong is willing to put to the torch. They’re also threatening r/deltarune. Because why not, to be honest? That might just be what it takes to get the world’s attention.

If r/deltarune doesn’t comply, then it’s no bother - they have other targets in mind. Other suggestions that can be seen floating around include other Redditors, small animals, and the moon itself. Honestly, at this point, I’m not sure what will break this fanbase more: another year of disappointment, or actually getting a trailer and a release date.

Hollow Knight: Silksong follows on from the originalHollow Knight, release in 2017. We’ve known about Silksong since 2019, but rather infamously, we haven’t seen much of the game at all. The closest we ever thought we were to the game’s release was last year after a2022 Xbox Showcase appearancelisted Silksong as one of the games coming to Game Passwithin the next 12 months. Well, those 12 months came and went, and Silksong was nowhere to be seen.

At the very least, we have a good idea of how we’ll be playing the game when it finally launches. As previously mentioned, Silksong will be available on Game Pass from day one, but it’s also launching on PlayStation. This was previously set to beacross both PS4 and PS5, but since so much time has passed, it remains to be seen if it sticks with the last-gen console.
