The planet you call home in Helldivers 2 is Super Earth, and it’s up to you and the rest of the willing recruits to fight off the invading extraterrestrials. Those recruits can be friends of yours too as it seems the best way to play Helldivers 2 will be in co-op, although it can just as easily be played alone too.

Helldivers 2 is the sequel to the third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios. This time out, the Helldivers are deep in the Galactic War, and it’s up to you to bring Managed Democracy to the masses.

The best thing about Helldivers 2 might well be the price. In a world where $70 is the industry standard for triple-A titles, any great game that costs less is incredibly welcome. Helldivers 2 costs considerably less, priced at just $40 if you only want the standard edition. Even if you do opt for the cheaper option, you’ll still get a pre-order bonus for buying early. Three sets of in-game armor that will presumably be unavailable to anyone who buys the game from launch day onwards.
Throw in an extra $20 when you buy Helldivers 2 and you can get the Super Citizen Edition. Nothing physical included with this version, other than the game itself if you’re getting a physical copy, but lots of in-game extras.
Even the more expensive Super Citizen Edition of Helldivers 2 still costs less than a regular $70 game, costing just $60. For that, not only will you get the full base game, but also a slew of in-game goodies to go along with it. More armor to go with the sets included with your pre-order bonus, other cosmetic items like a cape, and also Super Citizen Status right from the off.
