Summary

Helldivers 2is experiencing some issues this weekend, and it might stop the missions you complete from being counted towards the war effort. Developer Arrowhead warns that, until a fix is rolled out, player activity “may not be tracked” or “display properly”, potentially hurting the Helldivers' chances of liberating some planets over the weekend.

Arrowhead made the announcement in character, acting as if the Automatons were to blame for the outages. However, it does seem to be a legitimate glitch, with players reporting error messages on afan sitethat keeps track of war progress in Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2’s “Liberation Efforts” Might Not Be Tracked This Weekend

At the very least, Arrowhead is aware of the issue. Even on a Sunday, it says that its teams are “looking into the issue as we speak”, so a fix could be rolled out sooner rather than later. For the time being though, don’t expect your missions to make much of a dent in the liberation efforts, unless Arrowhead finds a way to count all of the tasks completed during the outages towards the overall war progression.

Arrowhead is also looking into an exploit thatlets players farm Super Credits, so we can expect another update very soon.

At the very least, it didn’t get in the way of a huge major order players were given earlier in the week. During this time, the playerbase was tasked with collectively killing two billion Terminids and was given five days to complete the mission. Amazingly, theymanaged to pull off this feat in less than a day. As Helldivers 2 veterans know all too well, this probably means that something infinitely worse is just around the corner, as the devs don’t like us growing too complacent.

However, we’re probably not going to see much action until this issue is addressed, as it would be horrifically unfair to give us a significant mission that we can’t contribute to. It remains to be seen when war progress is once again working as intended.
