Summary
Hades left early access about a year after it had begun, getting a Switch release at the same time since Supergiant deemed its masterpiece ready for the masses. Arguably the ideal way to play the game thanks to the Switch’s handheld capabilities, Hades arrived on the Nintendo console the year before it was ported toPS4andXbox One. If you didn’t get it then, you can get it now, and you can pay half as much as everyone else did at launch.
The price of the roguelike has been cut in half which means you can pick it up on Switch through the link below for just $12.49. Even if you’re unsure Hades is for you, and I’m assuming you are if you haven’t played it by now, $12.49 for a game of this caliber is a real steal. In the unlikely event that you decide Hades isn’t for you after giving it a few hours of your time and completing some runs, the worst case scenario is you’ve spent $12.49 for that entertainment and to confirm Hades, and thereforeHades 2, isn’t for you.

Hades
WHERE TO PLAY
Hades is a smash-hit roguelike from Supergiant Games, creators of Bastion and Transistor. Taking on the role of Prince Zagreus, son of the aforementioned Hades, you must battle the many bosses of the Underworld to escape and reach Mount Olympus.
You might have heard the term roguelike and your eyes glazed over, and trust me, I get it. Before Hades, I’d do the same. However, being a bandwagon guy, as the original game’s popularity grew, I eventually caved and gave it a try. Despite having little to no interest in the genre before that, Hades hooked me in and kept me there and now its sequel is one of my most anticipated games of 2024. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I’m invited to take part in the technical test as so far, Supergiant has not responded to my request.
Seeing how Supergiant approaches the release of Hades 2 on Switch will be interesting. Despite Nintendo remaining radio silent on plans for its next console, the Switch’s successor is expected to be released in early 2025. If the timeframe between Hades 2’s early access period and its arrival on Switch is similar to that of the first game, there’s a very real chance that the sequel will be a launch game on Nintendo’s next console. What a huge title for Nintendo to have in its back pocket if that’s the plan.
