TheGameCubeis one of the most influential consoles Nintendo has ever made, even though it was ridiculed during its launch as it resembled a children’s lunchbox. During its lifespan, the Gamecube lacked sales compared to the PS2 and Xbox. Despite this, Nintendo has put out some amazing games that Nintendo fans, old and young, can still enjoy.
Creating fun experiences has always been the ethos of Nintendo, which still shows on the Nintendo Switch. While the days of the Virtual Console are long gone, we instead get to play games from past Nintendo consoles through its online subscription. We believe these games should be available on the service with rumors of a Nintendo GameCube add-on coming to the Switch.

10F-Zero GX
The Last Home Console Entry In This Series
It’s a shame that this series has been dormant since the early 2000s, especially since all we get nowadays is cameos or appearances from this series through other games like Super Smash Bros. or Mario Kart. F-Zero GX is filled with high-octane racing, where racers feel more like pilots in their jet-propelled vehicles.
WithF-Zero 99, a battle royale style racer using the same aesthetic from the SNES original, coming to Switch, we hope to see a resurgence for this forgotten I-P. The Switch Online version can include an online mode that can feature 30 racers at the same time.

9Wario World
A Unique And Underrated Platformer
Wario World was the first and only 3D platformer from theWarioseries. In this entry, Wario gets sucked into a cursed world where all of his wealth has turned against him, and his castle is split apart. He must travel through four distinct worlds to break the curse of an artifact called the Black Jewel.
The game would be a great addition on Switch either through the online service or as a remaster, as some of the controls can feel dated when controlling Wario. The camera system could also use improvements as it is very limiting for a3D action platformer.

8Kirby Air Ride
A Party Racer That Has Not Been Replicated
A racing game whereKirby, a pink puffball, hovers on unique vehicles to the end goal. Kirby Air Ridedoesn’t play like a normal racer, but rather, the vehicles move forward on their own except for the use of the A button, which brakes your vehicle and allows drifting.
Air Ride could be great on the online service as it still has a great cartoon art style, which has controls that are unique to this game. Online racing could be great for City Trial mode, where you and other players have to explore a city, find upgrades, and at the end of the trial you race each other with the upgrades you collect.

7Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
A GameCube-Exclusive Remake
The Metal Gear series is famous for its writing and characters by visionary Hideo Kojima.Metal Gear Solidis about a special ops soldier named Solid Snake, who is sent to Shadow Moses Island to seize plans to stop a nuclear mech called Metal Gear. The original title is filled with cinematic cutscenesand voice acting, which were revolutionary for the PlayStation back in 1998.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is a remake of the first game, with newly animated cutscenes, new voice lines, and an updated game style that resembles Metal Gear Solid 2. While the MGS collection is on the Switch, The Twin Snakes offers a different take on the original game.

6Pokemon: XD Gale of Darkness
Snag Trainers' Shadow Pokemon
Pokemon: XD Gale of Darknessis a follow-up to Pokemon Colosseum, where you battle trainers and evil organizations while being able to capture their Pokemon if they are Shadow Pokemon. Shadow Pokemon are infected with a dark aura, and it’s up to you to capture them and purify their hearts, a change from how the original games have you capture Pokemon in random encounters set in the wild.
Pokemon: XD could work as an online service game where you battle other players in an added online mode, akin to the Pokemon Stadium games on the same service. The game’s Pokemon could also be integrated into Pokemon Home, an online service that is able to transport Pokemon captured in other games.

5Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike
The Original Trilogy, And Then Some
In Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike, you control many of the famous star-fighters and ships included in the Star Wars movies and fight your way through armadas. It also added on-foot missions where you control a character like Luke Skywalker, and run around and shoot enemies with a terrible aiming system.
A remaster on the Switch would be the better alternative, as controls could be fixed on the on-foot mission. An online co-op mode can also be added, which includes all the missions from Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader.

4Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance
The Strategic Perma-Death RPG
TheFire Emblemseries was first introduced to many international players through the Super Smash Bros games, which included Marth and Roy as fighters. Fire Emblem is a strategic RPG where you have to make up a team of different archetypes; swords, axes, and lances. These weapons are used by opponents as well and work on a rock, paper, scissor system.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance could be a welcome addition to Switch as the game offers an older style of the thriving series, which can be refreshing to more recent players to the series.

3Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem
The Big N’s First Published M-Rating
Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem pushed the envelope on what we expect a survival horror game to be. You take control of several characters, each with their own set of weapons as they all come from different times. One timeline has you fighting as a Trojan soldier, while another has you playing as a doctor in the 1950s. However, each character has the same set of magic spells to heal or do damage.
Eternal Darkness is also famous for having a sanity meter, where, just like HP or MP, it will deplete and, once it does, the game will throw obstacles that break the fourth wall. These include the size of characters changing, save files being deleted, or the volume of the TV decreasing. The game deserves an updated remake for the Switch, as many of the sanity obstacles have to be updated due to them resembling old 2000s technology.

2Star Fox: Assault
An Underrated Gem
Although Star Fox: Assault has been panned by many die-hard Star Fox fans, it still makes an impression due to its visuals, soundtrack, and different types of gameplay styles. The tone of the story is more serious, as the threat in this story is more universal, causing former enemies like Star Wolf to join forces with our heroes. A first for the series is the on-foot sections of the game where you play as Fox McCloud, leader of Star Fox, armed with guns and bombs.
Star Fox: Assault could work on the Switch’s online service as the game still looks and sounds impressive to this day. The online could also work well with the multiplayer mode with ease. We need more Star Fox!

1Soul Calibur 2
A Special Guest From The Legend Of Zelda Series
In 2002,Soul Calibur 2launched on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube at the same time — it’s fundamentally the same game, except for each having an exclusive character that represented their respective console. The PlayStation got Tekken’s Heihachi, the Xbox got the comic book anti-hero Spawn, and the GameCube got The Legend of Zelda’s Link. Having Link as a guest character in a fighting game, besides Super Smash Bros., was a dream for Nintendo fans. His move-set referenced many of the items found in his respective series, while also including moves like kicks and tackles not seen before.
Back in 2013, an HD version launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which both included Heihachi and Spawn, but did not include Link. This version included clean textures and an online versus mode. This HD version should be included on the Switch with all exclusive characters in this version as it has already been deleted from Microsoft’s store.
