There are 14 chapters total inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, most of which are lengthy epics that will expand the dynamics of Cloud and his lovable party members and move the story through many twists and turns that will have you endure a wave of various emotions.
In the relaxing tropical region of Costa del Sol, you will get all the aforementioned beats and then some, making for one of the more engaging, mysterious, and memorable chapters thus far—which is saying something, as all the prior ones were remarkable as well.
Finding A Hotel
After the long journey on the Shinra-8, Cloud and company arrive at the luxurious beaches ofCosta del Sol.But before hitting the waters, everyone is exhausted and just wants a good night’s rest. So, yourfirst order of operationsis tofind a hotelfor everyone to crash at for the night.
The Royal Coast Hotel
Upon speaking to theTourist Center Receptionist,you will learn of thelocations of two hotelsin the area, which will be marked on your map. From here,follow the objective markersby foot or Wheelie, leading you directly toThe Royal Coast Hotel.
Unfortunately for Cloud and his party, thishotel is booked solid,meaning you cannot crash here for the night and will have to look elsewhere. Luckily, as the Tourist Center receptionist stated earlier, there is another option.
Costa del Sol Resort
From here,follow the main quest waymarkagain until you reach theCosta del Sol Resort,where the receptionist here will also tell you they arejampacked,meaning you cannot stay here for the night either. Withseemingly no option, the savior we need arrives just at the right moment,when we need them most…
Johnny’s Seaside Inn
Enter Johnny,who exclaims he is theproud owner of a hoteland would love for Tifa, Cloud, and the others to stay there. After accepting his request because you don’t have much of a choice, you will follow Johnny back to ‘Johnny’s Seaside Inn,’ a worn-down shack barely holding up.
Upon arrival, Johnny states he has other matters to tend to but says you can all make yourselves at home. Following that,enter Cloud’s room and put his sword on its stand,thenhead back to the plazaareaof Costa del Sol to acquire your beachwear!
Obtaining Beachwear For Cloud
Making your way back out into the plaza,Cloud will be bombarded by two dancerswho will give him a ‘Ticket del Amor #7,’ which will give himaccess to specific mini-gamesin the area.Participating and succeedingin these mini-games will reward you with aCompanion Card,which can then beexchanged for beachwear.
Pirate’s Rampage
After receiving your Ticket from the lovely dancers, follow the waypoint to thewest end of the regionto findBarretstanding in front of the ‘Pirate’s Rampage’ mini-game. Speak to him and the attendant to get a brief rundown of the rules, thenaccept to participatein the amusement.
To get Cloud aCompanion Cardhere, you must rack upat least 10,000 Score,which is far less than it sounds, as there are many targets for you to hit throughout each of the four rounds. If you arestrugglinghere, werecommend turning offtheMotion Sensor Functionand theAdaptive Triggers,as they will substantially impact your overall performance if you aren’t used to them!
Card Carnival
With your first Companion Card in your possession,follow the second waymark until you reach the docsand see the one and onlyReginathere, who you may recognize from the Queen’s Blood Tournament on the Shinra-8.Speak to the receptionistnearby to bebrought up to speedon the rules of ‘Card Carnival.’
After hearing the rules andteaming up with Reginafor this unique style of Queen’s Blood, you will have tocomplete three matchesof Card Carnival to receive yoursecond Companion Card.Each board will only have you placing cards, so don’t worry about Regina placing cards or your opponent.
Each board has a specific way you must solve itto win, and Regina will quickly point out when you made a mistake. Think of Card Carnival as a puzzle game of sorts, as youmust place the cards you have in specific places and in a particular orderto emerge victorious!
Obtaining Cloud’s Beachwear
Finally, withtwo Companion Cardsin the hands of Cloud, you can speak totheBeachwear Exchange Merchantandtrade both of them for two unique outfitsfor Cloud. From here, head to the changing booth behind the saleswoman andselect which one you wantCloud to rock, thenhead to the beachto meet up with Barret!
Obtaining Beachwear For Tifa And Aerith
With Cloud in his swimwear and on the beach with Barret, it’s time togo through the same rigamarolewith the ladies—and Red XIII—who mustcompete in similar mini-games to earn Companion Cardsthat are thenexchanged for beachwear.
So, uponexiting Johnny’s Seaside Inn, Aerith and Tifa will be greeted by the dancers,receiving a pair of ‘Ticket del Amor #77,’ enabling them toparticipate in some of the attractionsin the area. You must partake infour different mini-gameshere, so be prepared!
Aerith: Run Wild
After speaking with the dancers,four main quest markerswill be vomited onto your map and mini-map to follow.Head to the one closest to you,just beyond the small market, to find theRun Wildattraction.Speak to the attendantto get the general rundown of the activity, then accept to participate in it.
Run Wild will have youassume control ofRed XIII,having youplay a game of soccer against three other animals.There are four goals total, and you must defend your own goal while also trying to score in the other three.Each teambegins with five points, which lowers whenever a goal is made on their net.
Placing in first, second, or tying in either first or secondplace willnet Aerithone Companion Card, so you don’t have to sweat too hard here. Thegame is simple enough, and the AI of the opposing teams isn’t too aggressive or good,so you should be able to place at least second with a bit of effort!
Aerith: Cactuar Caper
Next up is another mini-game that willget Aerith her second Companion Card.You can find it byheading toward the dock where Cloud played Card Carnivalwith Regina.Approach the waymark on your mapto be greeted by a Shinra Employee and a Studio Employee, who will give you the gist of the amusement.
After receiving aCaper Compass and a Caper Camera,you will have totrack down four Cactuars around the regionand snap photos of themwith the camera.While they aren’t hidden too well, some are a bit of a pain to locate. Justkeep an ear out for the Shinra Employee wondering out loud where they could be,as they are always near his location!
Tifa: Unreturned Wheelies
Now that Aerith has her two Companion Cards, it’s time to focus on gettingTifahers.Follow the waymark toward the Tourist Center Receptionistto find a woman angrily denouncing the notion of rounding up the misplaced Wheelies. After the cutscene plays out, you will be tasked withrounding up six Wheeliestotal.
There arethree different colorsof Wheelies:Red, Blue, and Yellow,andtwo are missing from each.To complete this mini-game, you musttrack them down and return them to their designated spots.Upon completing this task, Tifa will be rewarded with herfirst Companion Card!
Tifa: Piano Concert
After rounding up all the misplaced Wheelies, head intoThe Royal Coast Hotelto findMadam M and Andrea.They are looking for areplacement pianistto play in the hotel’s lobby. Thus entersTifa,whoplays ‘Tifa’s Theme’on the piano. You canpractice beforehandif you wish, but if you played the game’s demo, it’s the exact same track that was present there.
No matter your performance, you will get rewarded with a Companion Card,making that two total, which means you are finally done with all the mini-games in this portion of the game. Now it’s time to get changed and down to the beach!
Obtaining Tifa And Aerith’s Beachwear
Now thatTifa and Aerith both have two Companion Cardsa piece, you canhead back to the Beachwear Exchange merchantandtrade them in for two unique outfitsfor the each of them. From here, go to thechanging booth behind the merchant, select whichever ones you like,and head down to the beach!
Cloud likes both Tifa’s Shining Spirit and Aerith’s Pink Mermaid, which will slightly raise their affinity when selected!
Beachtime!
Now that everyone is properly dressed and at the beach,it’s time to see what the robes are up to down there, which is where things get interesting. That is, of course, afterCloud gets flusteredby Tifa and Aerith’s swimwear.
Hojo On The Beach
Everything is seemingly going fine untilHojo shows up and ruins everythingin the blink of an eye. Upon the initial cutscene, you mustwalk up to him as Cloud,which will kick off another long cutscene, where hesummons in the Grasptropod.
Grasptropod Boss Fight

Best Dialogue Choices
Upon defeating the Grasptropod, you canwalk freely around the beach and speak to each of your party members,allowing you tostrengthen your bond with them.The following choices are the best for each character!
After speaking with each party member, you may exit the beach and end the chapter!
