Final Fantasy 14’s fifth expansion, Dawntrail is almost here. We will be afforded the chance to travel to Tural starting from Jul 08, 2025, or from June 28 if you have early access. There are three editions of Dawntrail to choose from - plus a Collector’s Box which doesn’t include a copy of the game - and all of them are still in stock with Dawntrail’s release right around the corner. Every edition of Dawntrail listed below requires you to own a base copy of the game, although I’m still hopeful a bundle that combines the base game with Dawntrail and its four other expansions will be available at a later date.
Dawntrail will launch onPlayStation,Xbox, andPCon July 2, and pre-ordering will get you early access from June 28. It will also get you a couple of in-game items - a wind-up Zidane Minion, and Azeyma’s Earrings which will boost your EXP by 30 percent. Note that not only do you need the base game before buying Dawntrail, but you also need to buy the expansion on the corresponding platform. If you’ve been playing Final Fantasy 14 onPS5, buying Dawntrail onSeries X|Sisn’t going to help you.

Dawntrail does include other Final Fantasy 14 expansions though if you’ve got some catching up to do. Shadowbringers and Endwalker are a part of Dawntrail if you don’t have them already. If you’d like even more from Dawntrail, but not so much that you need to fork out for the Collector’s Edition, there’s a Digital Collector’s Edition available. No physical goodies, but some in-game items inspired byFinal Fantasy 9, and a Chocobo Brush that doubles as a Pictomancer Weapon.
The Digital Collector’s Edition of Dawntrail comes with a code for the expansion and some additional in-game extras, a couple of them inspired by Garnet and the Ark Mount from Final Fantasy 9.
Want the full Dawntrail experience this summer both in the game and the real world? Then you’ll want the Collector’s Edition. All of the pre-order bonuses and in-game extras mentioned above with some Final Fantasy 14 merch to go along with it. That includes an art box - even though Dawntrail itself will be a digital copy - a cloth map showing Final Fantasy 14’s whole world, a journal for documenting your adventures, and some pens to write them with. Best of all, a nine-inch Warrior of Light statue to stand alongside you while you play.
Dawntrail’s Collector’s Edition includes a digital copy of the expansion and a whole lot more. A cloth map of Final Fantasy 14’s world, a notebook to chronicle your journey, and best of all, a Warrior of Light viper figure.
If you want to buy your Dawntrail expansion separately for whatever reason, or the Collector’s Edition has sold out by the time you see this which, although that’s unlikely at this late stage, there’s the Collector’s Box. The box includes everything that comes with the Collector’s Edition minus a copy of the game. The statue, the map, everything. Well, everything other than early access and the in-game items since the box doesn’t come with a copy of the expansion.
The Collector’s Box is everything that comes with the Collector’s Edition minus the actual Dawntrail expansion. If you’re getting your code separately, or you just want the extra stuff without the DLC, then this is the option for you.
Final Fantasy 14’s Dawntrail expansion releases on May 25, 2025, or July 21, 2025 if you pre-order anything above (minus the Collector’s Box) ahead of release day since they all include early access as a pre-order bonus. Dawntrail will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
