2023 might have been a little rougher for Bethesda than many of us expected, but it looks like 2024 is turning all of that around.Not only has Amazon’s Fallout series landed with a nuclear-sized bangand pushed ahead as one of the best gaming adaptations since The Last of Us, but we’ve finally got more news about thelong-awaited current-gen update for Fallout 4.

Yesterday, the Fallout series premiered a few days earlier than we all expected, and it looks like Bethesda is trying to capitalise on all that post-apocalyptic hype,as it just confirmed that Fallout 4’s current-gen update (which was announced all the way back in 2022) for PS5 and Xbox Series is going to be arrivingin just a few weeks on April 25.

Fallout 4’s Long-Awaited Current-Gen Update Is Coming In A Few Weeks

This was confirmed by Bethesda in a news post regarding the updateover on the official Fallout website. Beyond confirming when the PS5 and Xbox Series versions are going to be released, the post also details a lot of content that’s going to be included within the patch. For starters, the update adds native versions of Fallout 4 on both PS5 and Xbox Series, alongside Performance mode and Quality mode settings.

The update also adds stability improvements and a variety of fixes for the game, although what specifically isn’t mentioned. Fallout 4 players on PS4 and Xbox One will also receive a free update with those same stability improvements, as well as some fixes for logins and quests. PC players aren’t being left out of the fun, either, as a new update is coming for the game that adds widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, as well as fixes to Creation Kit.

The news blog also revealed that Fallout 4 will be available to purchase on the Epic Games Store soon and that the Steam version will become Steam Deck Verified.

Finally, the blog post also details some of the new Creation Club content that is being added to the game, such as a new set of Enclave missions that have unique gear, a makeshift weapons pack, and a Halloween workshop. Looks like there’s plenty of life left in Fallout 4 after all.
