MyGM (formally known as GM Mode) made its triumphant return in WWE 2K22. It was a relatively simple mode in that title. Yet, the developers have kept building upon the mode since then by adding new features. As such, there is a bit more to it inWWE 2K24.
That said, those who played MyGM in the past few games will get their head around the new elements reasonably quickly. However, if you’ve never played MyGM before, things can get a bit confusing. Therefore, here is a guide designed for beginners that tells you the main things you need to know.
Setting Up MyGM
Before you can start drafting superstars and booking cards, you must set up your MyGM Save.
Pick A GM
After you first load up MyGM and watch the intro video, you will need to pick your GM.Each one of them comes with their own Power Cards, which can help you in several ways when you decide to activate them. Here are the options:

Power Up
Makes all the power cards in the store free and grants two copies for a week.
Stephanie McMahon
The McMahon Presence
Earn double the amount of money from arena attendance this week.
Xavier Woods
Cheat Code
Allows you to steal a superstar from an opposing brand’s roster.

Power Of The Punch
At the start of next week, all superstars from an opposing brand lose five popularity points.

Special Council
All promos for the week are free, and their results are doubled.
Theodore Long
Just A Minute Playa'
Remove all match bonuses and quality boosts from an opposing brand’s show. Plus, it sets their match XP gain to very low for that week.
Legend Whisperer
It immediately increases a superstar’s level to 20.
All of these power cards have obvious benefits, so youcan’t really go wrong with any of them. It more comes down to how you play. Just pick the one that sounds most interesting to you.
Pick A Brand
Right after you pick your GM, you must select which brand you want to control. Like the GMs,each one has a unique Power Card. Here are the options:
Six random superstars get a six-point boost to their popularity
Raw
This Is War
Force an opposing brand to ban three of its superstars from competing for a week. The superstars are chosen at random.
NXT 2.0
Fresh Meat
Reduce the price of the next three superstars you purchase this week by 50%.
WCW
Classically Trained
Extend the duration of all of your roster’s contracts by three weeks.
ECW
Extreme Rules
Block all opposing brands from using three of their champions in the next show.
The brand you choose will likely partially depend on your favorite brand in real life. After all,none of the brand Power Cards are completely game-changing.That said, NXT’s fighting champion one is a solid pick.
ECW is the only brand without women’s titles, which is a disadvantage.
Once you’ve selected your brand, you mustchoose your opponents.
you may choose up to three brands to compete against, and you can decide whether the CPU will control them or other humans. Naturally,the more opponents you have, the harder it is to win. Yet, extra adversaries also make things a bit more exciting.
Session Settings
On the next screen, you have tosort out your session settings. Here is an explanation of each option:
What It Does
AI Difficulty
Dictates how good the AI is at running their shows and brand.
Game Difficulty
It determines how many matches are on your show, what level of budget reduction you get in later seasons, and how quickly bad morale will convince a superstar to leave your show. You can see a full breakdown in the game. It’s on the right side of the session settings screen.
Opening Budget
This one is fairly self-explanatory. It impacts how much money you start with, which you will use for the draft and setting up your shows.
Player Order
It allows you to select the order in which players set up their show and do their business. So, it’s more for when you’re playing with other humans. you may go in the same order every week, have it completely switch every week, follow a round robin format, or have the person in last place go first.
Shake Ups
Choose whether you want shake-ups or not. These occur after every PLE and can mix your MyGM up in various ways, such as handing out Power Cards or giving people stamina boosts. Those are just a couple of examples, though.
Draft Pool
you may pick a default draft pool or a custom one. With custom, you can decide exactly who features in your MyGM mode, as either an active superstar you can get in the draft, a local wrestler you can temporarily sign, or a person you can get on an expensive contract.
Auto Draft
Allows you to turn on auto draft, which has the game to draft superstars for you.
Match Unlocks
This dictates how many match types are available from the start. On the default setting, you unlock them over time. On the classic setting, you have them all available from the start.
If you select a custom draft, you can alter it right from that menu; a button prompt will allow you to do so.
Drafting Your Roster
When you’ve set up your MyGM mode, you’re placed into the draft. This is where you get to pick your starting roster.You’re required to draft a minimum of nine superstars.Other than that, there areno requirements on who you’re able to pick.
That said, if you want to build a roster that is as good as possible, then here area few things you should consider:
Unlike free agents you can pick up later, everyone you draft has a permanent contract. Therefore, they’ll only leave if they’re unhappy or you get rid of them.
After you’ve drafted your roster and your opponents have done the same, you will eventually get toselect your starting champions.You don’t have to give anyone the championships at this point, as you can set up title matches at a later date to crown some people.
Whoever is a champion gets a significant popularity boost. So, don’t leave the titles vacant for too long.
Booking A Show
If you’re playing on normal game difficulty or above, you get to book four matches weekly and get an extra one for PPVs. Alongside this, you can book a few promos.
On easy, you have fewer matches to book on each show.

Setting Up Promos
On every show, you’re able to have your superstars do a few promos. These arethe different types and what they do:
Self Promo
It can increase or decrease a wrestler’s popularity based on how well they do.
Call Out
One superstar calls out another. This can boost or start a rivalry.
Role Change
Enables a superstar to change their role. So, they can go from fan favorite to rule breaker or vice versa.
Advertising
It generates a bit more revenue at the risk of lowering a superstar’s popularity if they do a bad job.
Charity
Can increase your number of fans and potentially grant the superstar a popularity boost.
Increases the superstar’s ring XP.
Tag Team Call Out
One tag team calls another out. This can boost or start a rivalry.
These are all optional, andyou don’t have to have them on your show.That said, they can be beneficial for boosting your superstars, finances, and rivalries.
Having a superstar do a promo instead of wrestling lets them recover more stamina. However, they recover even more if they’re not on the show at all.
Show Logistics
Although they might not be as exciting as making matches, show logistics are very important to the success of your brand.They can improve your show quality and increase your number of fans.
From the show logistics tab, you canselect the arena where the show takes place, the road crew you use, your special effects, and your advertising.
Each of these serves as their own section and there are multiple tiers within a section. Naturally,the higher tiers you have, the better the quality of your show will be.
You don’t have the best options from the start, though. You mustunlock higher tiers with assetsthat you acquire as you play. You also need tospend a bit of money.
However, when you unlock a tier, itwill be available every week.So, it’s good to invest in higher tiers any time you get the chance. After all, having high logistics can make your show better than opposing ones, even if they put on better matches.
Winning MyGM
The goal of MyGM is tohave more fans and Hall of Fame Trophiesthan your opponents. The latter is the most important, as when youacquire ten Hall of Fame trophies, you officially win the mode.
The mode is separated into seasons. So, you could just decide that whoever is first after a set number of seasons is the winner.
To earn Hall of Fame trophies, you need tocomplete seasonal challenges, which can be found on the home screen of MyGM. The challenges vary as they can be for things like doing a certain amount of charity promos or hiring a certain number of superstars.
As such, while you’re running your show, you should keep these things in mind and continually work towards them as you attempt to prove yourself as the top GM.
