You’ve got plenty of options for your weapons, armor, and accessories from Officer Kurosawa at the police station inPersona 3 Reload, but those are all fairly standard. If you’re looking for something a bit more powerful or exotic, stop into Mayoido Antiques, located not far from there in Paulownia Mall.
After opening following your July exams, the owner of Mayoido is able to trade you the gemstones you’ve been collecting in Tartarus for some extremely powerful gear, the majority of which have higher stats and better bonus perks. Here’s a look at everything you can get at Mayoido Antiques.

What Is Mayoido Antiques?
When Does The Antiques Shop Open?
When you first head toPaulownia Mallat the beginning of Persona 3 Reload, you’ll notice a few shops there aren’t open yet. One of them, the onebetween Mandragora Karaoke and Aohige Pharmacy, is Mayoido Antiques.
It operated under a different name in previous versions of Persona 3, called Shinshoudo Antiques back then, though the name change is never explained.
The storedoesn’t open until 7/18, and on that day, Ikutsuki will visit the dorms in the evening and give you amysterious item, telling you to take it over to the owner of the antiques shop to see what she can do with it. Upon arrival, you learn that you were given aweapon blueprint, which the owner can now turn into apowerful weaponfor anyone in the party.
Butshe doesn’t want your yenin exchange for these weapons. As you’ve been going through Tartarus, you may have noticed your post-battle loot telling you you’ve been locatingassorted gemstonesthroughout Tartarus, and though you’ve had no use for them until now, you’re in luck.
Each item at Mayoido Antiques can bepurchased in exchange for the gemstonesyou’ve been finding in Tartarus, with better gear and items costing higher numbers of rarer gemstones.
Craft Weapons, Armor, And Accessories With Nihil Gear
When you enter thethird block of Tartarus, known asYabbashah, following your third Full Moon operation, you’ll be introduced to anew type of treasure chest, which gleams with agreen light. These areNihil treasure chests, and if you’re planning to upgrade your gear at Mayoido, you’ll need them.
Inside these chests will be one of three items:
Forevery upgradeyou purchase for weapons, armor, or accessories, youneed one Nihil itemthat matches the type of item you’re trying to have the shop owner create.
The appearance of and process forbeating the Shadows inside the Monad Doors, which also begin appearing in Yabbashah and stay prominent throughout the rest of the game, is different in P3R, but it’s potentially become more immediately valuable.
Now, after you’ve defeated one of the Monad Shadows, in addition to a regular treasure chest with rewards, you’ll alsoreceive one Nihil item per Monad Shadow you defeat.
You occasionally do find the Nihil treasure chests around Tartarus just like the other chest types, but these are far less common. The only reliable way to make them spawn is to defeat a Monad Shadow.
