Sparkle Gems are hidden all throughoutPrincess Peach Showtime, and you’ll need every last one to fill your album, as well as quite a few to unlock each boss. Every costume has their own set of 22, and here’s where you may find the Mermaid’s Sparkle Gems - don’t worry though, we’ve got all nine other costumes covered too.
Every Sparkle Gem In Princess Peach Showtime
Mermaid Peach might be the strangest costume of the lot, as it abandons any suggestion that this is a play and takes you underwater, with actual fish to control. Since those fish are key to getting each Sparkle Gem though, there doesn’t seem like much point in complaining.
Every Sparkle Gem in Melody of the Sea
In Melody of the Sea, Peach must use her voice to command fish like Aquaman and save her underwater band. Oh, and grab Sparkle Gems while she’s at it.
Melody of the Sea Sparkle Gem 1
When Madame Grape’s mermaid bandits appear, use your ribbon to drop the coconuts on them to get this Gem.

When riding the turtle, use your ribbon to light up every seashell as you pass them to get this Gem.
Melody of the Sea Sparkle Gem 3
When you first get the Mermaid Sparkle, don’t head through the door on the left. Instead go right and hold B to charm the fish. Move them under the clamshell then push Up to open it and grant you the Gem.

After the band is stolen, swim through the door to the right. In here, direct the fish up past the first clamshell to grab the Gem on the upper shelf.

When opening the biggest clamshell, you need to direct the fish through the grate. The shell on the left has more fish, but the shell on the right has the fifth Gem of the level.

After rescuing the first band member, you will go to an area with metal seaweed grates. Open the second one on the highest level for the next Gem.

When directing the eels blocking the path downwards, the second set of eels has a Sparkle Gem if you keep spinning them for long enough.

Before controlling the blowfish, swim to the bottom right and pose in the ring of starfish with ZL. This takes you to a hidden area and a clamshell with a Gem inside.

Free the band member trapped under the turtle by directing the three blowfish into the three different channels to unlock this unmissable Gem.
Melody of the Sea Sparkle Gem 10
Get a perfect score in the final concert to get this Gem. This is highly missable as you can pass and complete the level without a perfect score, but will not get the Gem in this instance.
Watch out for the red fish on the third wave (the left hand side moves slower so should be gotten last) and for the larger fish that need you to hold B for an extended time - prioritise these and you should be able to earn the Gem.
Every Sparkle Gem in Blight of the Sea
Mermaid Peach pits herself against a ship in Blight of the Sea, and let’s have a round of applause for me waiting until the ast guide to make a peach pit joke. You wouldn’t know it but this was the one I wrote last. Anyway! Underwater Sparkle Gems. Let’s go.
Right at the start of the level, after the first fish, double back to the podium at the beginning and swim to the upper clamshell to rescue the ribbon collector - all these tips and more in ourhidden ribbons guide.
Blight of the Sea Sparkle Gem 1
After freeing the first two mermaids, swim downwards to find a ring of starfish. Pose here with ZL to go to the hidden area with four more mermaids trapped. Free them and you will get the first Gem.

Immediately after this, open the clamshell on top of the rocks to get the next Gem.

When the screen starts scrolling, the third Gem is inside the clamshell inside the cove where the rock falls and smashes.
Blight of the Sea Sparkle Gem 4
This Gem is earned for having the fish successfully attack all of the mermaids from the boat - keep Peach safe, but the priority here is finding a gap to attack rather than moving defensively.

When inside the ship, direct the fish downwards through the grate to grab this Gem for you.

This unmissable Gem comes when you direct the eel through the jail to free the band.

As with the first outing for Mermaid Peach, this Gem is for a perfect score in the final performance. And as with the first outing for Mermaid Peach, if you mess up on the last note, you have to play the whole level again. So… don’t do that.
This time the large fish need to be tapped three times, rather than held.
Every Sparkle Gem in The Dark Depths & Swirling Currents
This is a unique third level in that Madame Grape and her minions are not here at all. Instead, you need to rescue the Mermaid Sparkla from a clamshell, then calm the whirlpools of the sea. Well, let’s get right to it.
The Dark Depths & Swirling Currents Sparkle Gem 1
Instead of opening the giant clamshell, swim to the right of the level and find a ring of starfish on the seabed. Pose using ZL to access the hidden area, then open up the top clamshell in here to earn the first Gem.
The Dark Depths & Swirling Currents Sparkle Gem 2
The second Gem is earned for opening the second large clamshell and rescuing the Mermaid Sparkla. It’s unmissable, but doing this before opening the red clamshell next to it will mean you’re able to’t rescue the ribbon collector - and remember our complete guide on the hidden ribbons is right here.
The Dark Depths & Swirling Currents Sparkle Gem 3
When avoiding the floating columns, this Gem is on the bottom row underneath some debris and beyond the second spiny creature.
The Dark Depths & Swirling Currents Sparkle Gem 4 & 5
As you might expect, this level ends with some singing. You’ll get the first Gem for getting a perfect score on the first three waves of fish… and the second Gem for getting a perfect score on the next three waves of fish. The ocean is safe!
