Balatrois a roguelike deckbuilder based on the simple concept of playing poker hands. However, with the help of powerful and unique Joker cards, you may add to and multiply the amount of Chips you score with each hand, reaching combos in the millions with the right build.
There are 150 Joker cards to discover and use during your runs in Balatro. Most of them are unlocked by default and can be used as early as your first run, but several Jokers need to be unlocked by completing certain objectives. Below, we’ll take a look at the effect of every Joker in the game, as well as how to unlock them all.

Greedy joker
+8 Mult if played hand contains a Pair.

Zany Joker
+12 Mult if played hand contains a Three of a Kind.
Mad Joker
+20 Mult if played hand contains a Four of a Kind.
+12 Mult if played hand contains a Straight.

+10 Mult if played hand contains a Flush.
+50 Chips if played hand contains a Pair.
Wily Joker
+100 Chips if played hand contains a Three of a Kind.
Clever Joker
+150 Chips if played hand contains a Four of a Kind.
+100 Chips if played hand contains a Straight.
+80 Chips if played hand contains a Flush.
+20 Mult if played hand contains 3 or fewer cards.
Go up to -$20 in debt
+15 Mult when 0 Discards remaining.
8 Ball
Creates a Planet card when the played hand holds at least two 8s.
Randomly adds Mult between 0 and 23.
Raised Fist
Adds double the rank of lowest card held in hand to Mult.
+3 Mult for each Joker card.
Delayed Gratification
Earn $2 per discard if no discards are used by end of the round.
Gros Michel
+25 Mult. 1 in 4 chance this card is destroyed at the end of each round.
Played Aces give +20 Chips and +4 Mult when scored.
Business Card
Played face cards have a 1 in 2 chance to give $2 when scored.
Supernova
Adds the number of times poker hand has been played to Mult.
Ride the Bus
+1 Mult for every hand played without a scoring face card. Resets to +0 mult when a face card is scored.
Gains +10 Chips if played hand contains a Straight.
+2 Chips for each remaining card in your deck.
Faceless Joker
Earn $5 if 3 or more face cards are discarded at the same time.
+1 Mult per hand played. -1 Mult per discard.
Superposition
Create a Tarot card if poker hand contains an Ace and a Straight.
To Do List
Earn $5 if poker hand is a random poker hand; changes every payout.
Cavendish
x3 Mult, but 1 in 1000 chance this card is destroyed at end of round.
Only appears if Gros Michel was destroyed this run.
Gains +4 Chips if played hand contains exactly four cards.
Earn $3 for each discarded
Hallucination
When any Booster Pack is opened, there is a 1 in 2 chance of creating a random Tarot card.
+1 discard
Earn $4 at the end of each round.
Popcorn
Starts at +20 Mult. -4 Mult for each round played. Disappears when Mult reaches 0.
Walkie Talkie
Each played 10 or 4 gives +10 Chips and +4 Mult when scored.
Play a five-card hand that contains only Gold cards.
Swashbuckler
Adds the sell value of all Jokers left of this card to Mult.
All Flushes and Straights can be made with 4 cards.
Retrigger all card held in hand abilities.
Ceremonial Dagger
When Blind is selected, destroy Joker to the right and permanently add double its sell value to this Mult.
Retrigger all played cards in final hand of round.
Fibonacci
Each played Ace, 2, 3, 5, or 8 gives +8 Mult when scored.
Steel Joker
This Joker gains x0.25 Mult for each Steel Card in your full deck.
Retriggers each played 2, 3, 4, or 5.
All cards are considered face cards.
Space Joker
1 in 4 chance to upgrade level of played poker hand.
Burglar
When Blind is selected, gain +3 Hands and lose all discards.
Blackboard
x3 Mult if all cards held in hand are Spades or Clubs.
Every played card permanently gains +4 Chips when scored.
Card Sharp
x3 Mult if played poker hand has already been played this round.
Madness
When Blind is selected, gain x0.5 Mult and destroy a random Joker.
Straights can be made with gaps of 1 rank.
Hologram
Gains x0.25 Mult per playing card added to your deck. Starts at x1 Mult.
Vagabond
Create a Tarot card if hand is played with $3 or less.
Cloud 9
Earn $1 for each 9 in your complete deck at end of round.
Rocket
Earn $1 at the end of round. Earning increases by $2 when Boss Blind is defeated.
Sell this card to disable current Boss Blind.
Gift Card
Adds $1 to the sell value of every Joker and Consumable card at the end of round.
Turtle Bean
+5 hand size. Reduces by 1 each round. Joker disappears when bonus hand size reaches 0.
Erosion
+4 Mult for every card less than your starting deck amount in your complete deck.
Reserved Parking
Each face card held in hand has a 1 in 2 chance to give $1.
To the Moon
Earn an extra $1 of interest for every $5 you have at the end of round.
Stone Joker
This Joker gains +25 Chips for each Stone Card in your full deck.
Sell this card to create a free Double Tag.
Trading Card
If first discard of round has only 1 card, destroy it and earn $3.
+2 Mult per reroll in the shop.
Spare Trousers
Gains +2 Mult if a scoring hand contains a Two Pair.
Gives x2 Mult. Loses x0.01 Mult per card discarded.
Seltzer
Retrigger all cards played for the next 10 rounds. Disappears after triggering 10 times.
Castle
This Joker gains +3 Chips per discarded card from the specified suit. Suit changes each round.
Mr. Bones
Prevents Death if Chips scored are at least 25% of the value required to beat the Blind. Self Destructs after triggering.
Sock and Buskin
Troubadour
+2 hand size. -1 hands per round.
Win 5 consecutive rounds by playing only a single hand in each.
Certificate
When round begins, add a random playing card with a random Seal to your hand.
Have a Gold card that also has a Gold Seal.
Smeared Joker
Hearts and Diamonds count as the same suit. Spades and Clubs count as the same suit.
Have 3 or more Wild cards in your deck.
Have at least 30 Diamond cards in your deck.
Bloodstone
1 in 3 chance for played cards with Heart suit to give x2 mult when scored.
Have 5 or more Glass cards in your deck.
Joker, Tarot, Planet, and Spectral cards may appear multiple times.
Reach Ante 4.
Flower Pot
x3 Mult if played hand has a scoring Diamond, Club, Heart, and Spade.
Win a run in 12 or fewer rounds.
Earn at least 10,000 Chips in a single hand.
The Idol
x2 Mult when the specified card is scored. Card changes each round.
Earn at least 1 million Chips in a single hand.
Seeing Double
x2 Mult if played hand has a scoring Club card and a scoring card of any other suit.
Play a hand that contains four 7 of Clubs.
Matador
Earn $8 if the played hand triggers the Boss Blind’s ability.
Earn at least 100 million Chips in a single hand.
Satellite
Gain $1 at the end of round for every unique Planet card used this run.
Have at least $400.
Cartomancer
Create a Tarot whenever Blind is selected, if there is room.
Discover every Tarot card.
Astronomer
All Planet cards and Celestial packs in the shop are free.
Discover every Planet card.
Burnt Joker
Upgrade the level of the first discarded poker hand each round.
How To Unlock
DNA
If first hand of round has only 1 card, add a permanent copy to deck and draw it to hand.
Sixth Sense
If first played hand of the round is a single 6, destroy it and create a Spectral card.
Seance
If poker hand is a Straight Flush, create a random Spectral card.
Each King held in hand gives x1.5 Mult.
Obelisk
x0.2 Mult per consecutive hand played without playing your most played poker hand.
Uncommon Jokers each give x1.5 Mult.
Ancient Joker
x1.5 Mult for each card played in a specified suit. Suit changes at end of each round.
Campfire
This Joker gains x0.5 Mult for each card sold, resets when boss Blind is defeated.
Win a run in 18 or fewer rounds.
x2 Mult if played hand contains a Pair.
Win a run without playing a Pair.
The Trio
x3 Mult if played hand contains a Three of a Kind.
Win a run without playing a Three of a Kind.
The Family
x4 Mult if played hand contains a Four of a Kind.
x3 Mult if played hand contains a Straight.
x2 Mult if played hand contains a Flush.
Win a run without playing a Flush.
Invisible Joker
After three rounds, sell this Joker to duplicate a random Joker.
Win a run without having more than 4 Jokers at any one time.
Copies the ability of the leftmost Joker
x3 Mult if you have at least 16 enhanced cards.
Enhance 16 or more cards in your deck.
Canio
Gains x1 Mult when a face card is destroyed.
Chance to obtain when a Soul Spectral card is used during a run.
Triboulet
Played Kings and Queens each give x2 Mult when scored.
Yorick
x5 Mult only after using 23 discards.
Chicot
Disables effect of every Boss Blind.
Perkeo
Create a Negative copy of 1 random Consumable card in your possession at the end of every shop.
