The lore ofElden Ringis steeped with Godly characters and a divine history that would take an age to interpret right. After the shattering, many people tried to claim the shards of the Elden Ring, and the strongest of these became Demigods — beings that had the strength to rule the Lands Between.

But not all of them deserved the throne, and none of them reached the heights of Queen Marika — although most of the Demigods came close. There are many unnamed Demigods in Elden Ring, but the ones that you face and know about were all once candidates of succession. They all vary in strength and power, but based on in-game dialogue and lore, it can be reasonably deduced which Demigod stood at what level.

9Godrick The Grafted

An Absolute Monstrosity Of A Demigod

Godrick the Grafted is the only demigodwe know of that isn’t directly related to Marika. He’s a shardbearer who’s considered divine because his bloodline is directly related to that of Queen Marika’s, which is his only claim to fame. He’s always been a weakling and there’s a lot of evidence of his cowardice throughout the game.

He’s most known for gaining strength through grafting weak tarnished who find themselves overwhelmed at Stormveil Castle. Perhaps his most impressive feat is managing to successfully beg Malenia to spare his life, making him the weakest of the Demigods when it comes to strength and power.

8Rykard, Lord Of Blasphemy

Together We’ll Devour The Very Gods!

Rykard is a huge step up from Godrick and only finds himself close to the bottombecause of the other contenders. He’s a sibling of Ranni and Radahn, known for being stern and ambitious, and it’s hinted that he even helped Ranni steal the Rune of Death from Malekith.

He worked against the Erdtree and fed himself to the immortal great serpents to live eternally and swallow the world eventually. After taking over the great serpent’s body, Praetor Rykard supposedly lost his mind and now wants to devour every God he comes across, getting stronger and stronger, till he’s eventually defeated by a tarnished.

7Ranni The Witch

The Only Demigod With A Grand Ambition

Ranni the Witch was an Empyrean, meaning she was chosen as a potential candidate for Godhood to replace Marika as the Greater Will’s chosen representative.Ranni’s side quest leads probably to the best ending in the game, as the Lands Between are finally freed from the Greater Will’s constant interference.

Her strength is warranted by the fact that she stole the Rune of Death and killed her physical body as well as her two fingers. Though you can’t fight her as a boss, she is capable of one-shotting you, a feat none of the other demigods possess. Unfortunately, lore-wise there isn’t enough information to rank her higher.

6Morgott The Omen King

Shunned By The Very Thing He Protects With His Life

Morgott was an Omen born to Marika and Godfrey, and as an Omen he was considered accursed and sent to the underground of Leyndell. Since he was born outside of grace, he wasn’t bound to the Erdtree, yet he was the only one after the demigods to rule the Royal Capital and willfully serve the Greater Will.

Despite being an Omen, he was one of the Greater Will’s best servants and is shown to emerge from the sewers after the shattering. He even managed to take down a younger Radahn in the opening artworks, showcasing his strength as a demigod.

5Mohg, Lord Of Blood

As The Son Of Godfrey And Marika, Mohg Deserves More Than He Got

Mohg is the second of the Omens born to Marika and Godfrey and is the twin brother of Morgott, who abandoned the Golden Order. Unlike Morgott, he considered his Omen roots as a blessing and deep underground found an Outer God known as the Formless Mother.

This Outer God made Mohg even more powerful by erupting his blood with fire and thus began Mohg’s dynasty in Mohgwyn palace. He would then go on to kidnap Miquella and bring him to the underground right up until a tarnished faces him. As an optional endgame boss, Mohg is as strong as Malenia but lore-wise, he falls short.

4Godwyn The Golden

The First Of The Demigods To Die

Before he became a large, corrupted piece of flesh that had its roots spread across the Lands Between, Godwyn the Golden was the eldest child of Queen Marika and Godfrey. He was one of the bravest demigods to have existed and is known for his role in the fight against the ancient dragons, the only war that tore down Leyndell’s walls.

He supposedly defeated Fortissax, the strongest of the ancient dragonsthat we know of, and befriended him, thus ending the war and starting a long peaceful coexistence with the dragons. Though he died before inheriting any Great Rune, he is still one of the most powerful demigods there is.

3Malenia, Blade Of Miquella

She Has Never Known Defeat

After hearing her name and title thousands of times, you’d roughly be aware of Malenia’s strength in battle. She was one of the mightiest Demigods, able to go toe to toe with Radahn despite her body having been mostly taken over by the Scarlet Rot.

She single-handedly nuked Caelidinto oblivion and drove Radahn mad with her Scarlet Rot, and after you face her at the Haligtree, she finally ascends to her Goddess form in the second phase of the fight. As an Empyrean, she is definitely worthy of being as strong as she is both in lore and as a boss fight.

2Miquella Of The Haligtree

The Kindest Of The Demigods

Malenia served her brother Miquella and fought for his right to Godhood and not her own.Miquella was the only demigod that actually had good intentionsand was considered fearsome by his sister Malenia, which implied that he might be stronger than her.

Miquella was loved by many, and he made the Haligtree where we see his benevolence shine through, making it a safe place for those shunned by the Golden Order. Before being kidnapped by Mohg, he might’ve been the strongest of the demigods and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is all about him.

Radahn’s cutscene before his battle in Elden Ring

1Starscourge Radahn

Mightiest Of Marika’s Offspring, And One Of The Hardest Boss Fights In The Game

It’s mentioned throughout the game how Radahn was the mightiest of the demigods, and we can see that proven through his feats of strength and magic that rivaled those of Gods in the Lands Between. He was a fearsome warrior who was inspired by Godfrey and rivaled him in strength.

He also learned gravity magic, fought the stars, and won, holding them back despite going mad. He went against Malenia, and survived her Scarlet Rot onslaught and is considered by many to be the strongest of the demigods time and time again. You can’t expect anything less from someone as renowned as General Radahn.
