Counter-Strike 2has many weapon types, from SMGs to Shotguns, but the most used and best weapons in the game are the Assault Rifles. Besides Sniper Rifles, Assault Rifles like the AK-47 or the CT-sided M4 are usually bought over other weapons in Buy rounds where your team can afford them.
They’re essential because these guns are accurate, do a lot of damage, and have a fixed spray pattern that you can memorize as you play the game. Other stats like range and the one-shot headshot potential for some of these guns make them the ideal weapon for a buy round. However, as usual, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses, meaning not all of them perform equally.

The FAMAS is a CT-sided budget rifle that is fairly decent when comparedwith every other weapon in the game. It’s accurate when standing still and has an easy recoil pattern. It can fire and deal decent damage at longer ranges than SMGs, which is a plus point, but at $2,050, the FAMAS doesn’t do enough damage to justify its price tag.

It has a burst fire mode that can be taken advantage of but besides that, the FAMAS isn’t really used that often. There are better, cheaper weapons to use in ECO rounds that get similar results and despite being a decent weapon, it’s outshined by the other Rifles.

The Galil AR is the T-sided FAMAS counterpartthat has that weapon’s beat in almost every category. It’s cheaper than some SMGs at $1,800, which means it’s a popular choice in anti-ecos. If you win, you may keep it for the buy rounds as well, since the stats are just that good.
The versatility of this gun is unmatched, you can spray and not worry about bullets because of the magazine side and also tap-fire at long ranges because of its accuracy. It is comparable to the M4A4 at almost half the price, which speaks volumes in itself.

The Aug is the scoped rifle for the CTs that is popular among the lower ranksbecause of its ease of use compared to the M4A4 or M4A1-S. It’s good at distance and holding a corner CT side is extremely effective with the Aug.
But it’s way too expensive to see consistent use over the M4s. It’s priced at $3,300 and at such a price point there’s not much the Aug can do better than the M4s. It can’t one-shot headshot an armored opponent like the AK, which is why a lot of people use the M4A4 over the Aug because at the end of the day, the scope doesn’t really matter.

The SG 553 is the terrorist Aug and is better than the Aug in every way. It’s cheaper at $3,000 and has a 100 percent penetration power. This stat essentially means that it completely ignores armor and, as such, has slightly better stats than even the AK.
The reason it’s not used as often as the AK is because of the irregular recoil pattern and the lower fire rate.Though you can easily nullify both of these things with practice, the AK will always see more action because it outperforms this gun, but the SG 553 has a dedicated fanbase and will always be the king of rifles at long range.

The M4A1-S and the M4A4 couldn’t be equipped at the same time in CSGO, so it was based on preference that people used one over the other. But now with the loadout system, you can use both as a CT whenever, because they both have their own strengths and weaknesses.
The M4A1-S is the cheaper silenced version of the M4A4and has its advantages over the latter. But the cheaper cost also means lesser bullets. In a situation where you’re rushed by multiple enemies, the M4A1-S will always be the worse option. Still, tapping and firing is much easier on this gun, and the recoil is easier to control, meaning it’s really up to preference which M4 you will perform better with.

The M4A4 is the M4A1-S’s slightly more popular big brotherthat has its plus points over the M4A1-S. As mentioned before, the difference between these guns when it comes to effectiveness is so minimal that it’s up to you which one you prefer.
The M4A4 comes with a larger magazine with thirty bullets and a faster fire rate. However, the recoil is a bit more spread out, and it’s priced higher at $3,100. The truth is, both the M4s are good at their own things, which means you get to choose which one you prefer.

Take everything great about the M4A4 and the M4A1-S and combine them while removing their weaknesses —you get the Counter-Strike classic AK-47. In many ways, the AK is an ideal weapon. It has a simple spray pattern, and it deals a lot of damage at close and long ranges while also being able to one-shot headshot a fully armored opponent.
For reference, not even the M4s can do that. No matter who you’re playing against, almost every player ditches the M4 as soon as they see an AK-47 on the ground. Combine these unreal stats with the AK’s cheap price of $2,700, and you’ve got the undisputed best rifle and gun in the game.
