One week into its cinematic run and Dune: Part 2 still has the world well and truly gripped. Described as this generation’s Empire Strikes Back by some, despite no official confirmation there will be a third movie, the sequel is putting up big numbers at the box office. Despite it almost certainly continuing to build on those numbers, Legendary Pictures already has one eye on what’s next as pre-orders for Dune: Part 2’s Steelbook are already live.

Dune: Part 2’s Amazon page is now live, and although a release date for physical copies of the movie revealing when you’ll be able to watch in the comfort of your own home isn’t attached, the prices of all three options are available. The most expensive of the three is the 4K Ultra HD edition priced at $44.97. If you don’t have anything capable of playing 4K UHD, there’s a Blu-ray option for $29.98, or just a standard DVD for $23.99. Only the 4K UHD version comes with a Steelbook, and both it and the Blu-ray versions also include a digital copy of the movie.

You can also pick upa physical 4K UHD copy of Dune: Part 2 without the Steelbookfor $39.98.

The gap between a movie’s cinematic release and its physical home release varies. It’s usually around 12 weeks, but the pandemic saw a reduction in that timeline for quite a few films. My guess would be Dune 2 either hits that 12-week mark or goes a little longer. Not only will there be a lot of people who want to see this movie on a big screen, but many people will have already seen it multiple times and will continue to do so throughout the first few weeks.

Cast

Dune’s sequel continues the journey of Paul Atreides, leading the Fremen and battling back against those who attempted to wipe out his entire familial line from the face of Arrakis.

On top of seeing the movie multiple times and making sure you’re among the first to own a physical copy whenever they’re released, you’re able to now addseven new Funko Pops modeled after characters from the movie. Six of the seven, which include Chani and Feyd-Reutha Harkonnen figures, are all available for $12.99 each on Amazon. The seventh Pop!, an Emperor Shaddam figure, is also available but is exclusive to the Funko store.

The wait is now on for what comes next on the movie front. Despite no official confirmation, you may almost guarantee there will be more, Denis Villeneuve likely already having moved on to what he plans on wowing us with in Dune Messiah. We do have something to look forward to on the video game front, though.Dune Awakeningmight not have a release date yet, but more from the survival game which takes place on an alternate version of Arrakis was shown off this week.
