The Dragon’s Dogma series always had monsters that felt big, regardless of how big they actually were. This is thanks to the climbing mechanics the games add, which let you jump on top of monsters, climb toward their weak spots, and hack away.

Yet in the case ofDragon’s Dogma 2, the monsters not only feel big, they are massive, wearing the Shadow of the Colossus style on their sleeve. Some monsters have the size of buildings, but among the different challenges that you face in the game, which monster takes the spot as the biggest of them all?

Who Are The Biggest Monsters In Dragon’s Dogma 2?

You don’t have to play the game for long to encounter large creatures, since they make up most of the game. The tutorial already has youclimbing on top of a Medusa, and while you don’t get to kill it, you’ll soon be climbing on a Cyclops that you may kill.

Yet they are minuscule in comparison to the largest monsters you can encounter, and the main story makes sure that you don’t miss either of them. They aren’t the most challenging enemies you’ll encounter, but they bring the spectacle factor up to 11.

Talos

This massive walking statue worksless like a boss fight and more like a minigame, but few can deny that its sheer size can make you second-guess your chances against it. In reality, you don’t even have to fight it, although there is an achievement for downing it yourself.

To kill it,you’ll have to attack the glowing weak spots until they explode, something easier done with ranged attacks rather than climbing on the thing. Yet it’s only once you’re on top of it that you can feel the size, making even the bravest adventurers get a sense of vertigo.

The Dragon

You’ll be able to get a sense of how big the Dragon is early on, since during the flashback scene of how you became Arisen, you get a moment to gaze upon the creature’s size. While you get to fight all kinds of dragons in your adventure, none are as menacing as this one.

The proper fight against the Dragon comes at the “end” of the game, the creature letting you ride it to the arena where your duel is to take place. You could already tell this creature was big, butseeing it with its wings spread out really puts things in perspective: an entire marketplace could fit on top of its back.

Is Talos Bigger Than The Dragon?

Without a scene comparing the two creatures side by side, the only way to tell which one is bigger is by comparing the moments you met them individually. And at a glance, Talos seems bigger, or at least taller, since climbing on top of him is part of the challenge, something not that hard to do when fighting the Dragon.

Yet there is a way to tell how big they are compared to one another since theyboth interact with drake-like creatures at one point. For the Dragon, it’s when he slays the Royce dragon summoned by Phaesus, and for Talos, it’s when your Pawn controls itin the Unmoored World.

To get the Talos scene, you need to defeat him when he first shows up before the ballista destroys his arm.

Both Talos and the Dragon are bigger than these drakes, but the main difference ishow disproportionally large the Dragon is when compared to these other creatures. His tail and neck in particular are extremely long, meaning that, if he were to stretch out, he’d reach a significant height, towering over most buildings.

These scenes put their sizes in perspective, and they show thatthe largest monster in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the Dragonthat chooses you as Arisen. If measured from the head to the tail, the Dragon can easily beat Talos in height, something you can see for yourself in the final fight for the True Ending.
