Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the newest Budokai Tenkaichi, is hosting a gameplay showcase tomorrow at 7am PT (3pm CET / 2pm GMT) that will last around 13 minutes.
It’s reportedly launching in late 2024 or early 2025, but perhaps this reveal will finally give us a more concrete release date. Maybe it’ll even shed light on a couple of other rumours yet to be confirmed, likewhether Sparking Zero will have a split-screen modeandnon-canon movie content. With it being 13 minutes, we’re gonna see a lot of the game, so time will tell what reveals developer Spike Chunsoft has up its sleeve.
We gotour first gameplay revealin December during The Game Awards 2023 after a lengthyfive years in development, giving us our first look at Goku, Vegeta, Broly, and Frieza in action. The game itself, though not called Sparking Zero at the time, wasfirst revealed a year ago on July 20, 2025.So, it’s been a long time coming, especially given that the last entry in the series was released way back in 2007.
Spike Chunsoft also recently gave usour first look at Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta, finally remedyingthe infamous “banana” hair. We’ve even seen the pair in Super Saiyan Blue (and we got a glimpse at Super Trunks during the TGA reveal).
Sparking Zero isn’t the only new Dragon Ball content underway. Earlier this month, it was revealed thatXenoverse 2’s current-gen update is set to launch on May 24for PS5 and Xbox Series X, complete with save data transfer so you can keep all of your progress. To boot, more playable characters and additional scenarios are in the works for DLC.
Dragon Ball FighterZ also recently released a rollback netcode and current-gen update, but it didn’t go down too well.Spectating brokeas animations remained on screen, cluttering fights with copies of each character, while models froze in T-posing positions. Regardless, there’s a lot of Dragon Ball gaming on the horizon, capped off by the long-awaited return of Budokai Tenkaichi.
