A trophy list for the PS5 version ofDragon Ball FighterZhas been discovered, which seems to suggest the current-gen update for the game is going to go live soon.

Although it remains to be seen whether we’re going to be getting Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero in 2024, that doesn’t stop this year from being one of the most exciting for Dragon Ball in some time. Not only did we just get the seemingly final DLC release for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, but current-gen updates have also been promised for Dragon Ball FighterZ and XenoVerse 2.

While XenoVerse 2’s current-gen update was actually revealed some time ago,FighterZ was only just confirmed to be getting an update for PS5 and Xbox Series(alongside a complete edition) in the most recent issue of V-Jump. That issue revealed that the current-gen update would let the game run at 4K on consoles, as well as improve the quality of the models.

Considering how long we’ve been waiting for rollback netcode to be added to Dragon Ball FighterZ, most fans assumed that we wouldn’t be getting the current-gen update for quite some time, and would likely see the PS5 and Xbox Series update for the game at some point later this year. That doesn’t appear to be the case, though.

Over on Twitter, Wario64pointed out that thePS5 trophy list for Dragon Ball FighterZ had recently gone live on Exophase. Although the trophy list is the exact same as it was for the PS4 version of the game, the fact that the list has popped up for the PS5 version implies that the current-gen update for the game is going to go live very soon.

It’s also possible that we do get the Rollback Netcode update alongside the current-gen versions of the game, although V-Jump made it seem like Rollback Netcode still had some ways to go.

We weren’t given any kind of release date or indication as to when the update was going to go live when it was mentioned in V-Jump, but if it’s already appearing in the PlayStation database (which is how these trophy lists are shared and spotted), then it’s likely being tested for release by the developers. The Twitter account for Dragon Ball Games hasn’t yet said anything about the update, but we’ll keep you posted for when they do.
