Dragon Ball Zfans have managed to recreateSparking Zero’s combos and gameplay in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, proving once and for all that it’s going to play very similarly to the BT series.
As exciting as it was to have a brand-new Budokai Tenkaichi game confirmed after more than a decade without one, that doesn’t mean that fans haven’t been a little sceptical about it. It’s been a very long time since we last saw a Dragon Ball game like this and there have been so many different releases since then, including slightly-off spiritual sequels like Raging Blast, that some fans doubted it’dfeellike Budokai Tenkaichi.
This is a worry that wasn’t calmed down in the first gameplay trailer for Sparking Zero, which ironically didn’t feature much gameplay at all. That was just fixed by the recent Goku vs Vegeta trailer we got last week, which not only showcased giant charactersandrevealed all of the pair’s transformations, but also gave us our best look yet at how Sparking Zero is actually going to play.
As it turns out, Sparking Zero is going to play very similarly to Budokai Tenkaichi 3, something that was made clear by the footage of Goku and Vegeta duking it out. It was madeevenclearer after, though, as some fans have managed to recreate the combos and gameplay from the trailer in Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
First up, let’s take a look at a recreation of Vegeta’s combo, which comes from Twitter user RedKiBlast. In the video shared by them, we can see that almost all of Vegeta (Scouter)’s moves are present in Sparking Zero, from the first headbutt all the way to the ki cannon he shoots out. He’s even still got his signature ki blast barrage, although the colour has changed from purple to orange.
Then, we have Goku’s combo, which was successfully recreated by Twitter user KidYohann_. In the clip shared by them, we can see that Goku has the same charged spin-kick attack and rush to the enemy that he did in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. The speed actually looks to be even faster in Sparking Zero this time around, which is notable considering BT3 was already very fast.
Vegeta and Goku even have some of the same special moves that they did in Budokai Tenakaichi, including Final Garlic Cannon and Meteor Rush.
All of this goes to show that Sparking: Zero is taking some heavy inspiration from Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and isn’t just using the name of the series. Anyone worried that it was going to be more like Raging Blast can breathe a sigh of relief.
