There are several staples of aBiowareRPG, from the inclusion of player choice to likable party members. One of the most common sights is romance. That is not to say Bioware titles are overly romantic, but they allow you to pursue a physical relationship with other characters.
Both theDragon AgeandMass Effectgames include this concept. And it’s implemented in similar ways for both series. You talk to someone you like often, flirt a little bit, get to know them, make it clear you like them, and then seal the deal. Which characters you decide to engage with is up to you, as you can pick from a range of suitable mates. This is how many options each series has.

You Can Romance 26 People In The Dragon Age Series
TheDragon Age series contains 26 people to romance. This doesn’t include any of the prostitutes from the series or Bella and Kaitlyn from the first game, as those aren’t really romances. However, there is enough to Inquisition’s Lace Harding and Minister Bellise encounters for them to count.
Six of the 26 romance options are only interested in male protagonists, whereas seven of them are exclusively into women. Therefore, the remaining 13 are willing to enter relationships with people of any gender.

There are a couple ofrestrictions when it comes to species, though. One example is Cullen from Inquisition, as he will only romance a human or elf.
It’s only possible to have relations with the Desire Demon from the first game if you’re a mage.
The original game features 12 love interests, which is the mostfrom any of the instalments. This is mainly because the first game has several small flings while the others have fewer. To that point, Inquisition contains more major romances than the other titles.
Speaking of major romances, you can’t be in a committed relationship with more than one character at a time. However, none of the relationships carry over since you play as a different protagonist in each instalment. Therefore, you can haveone romance per game.
You Can Romance 27 People In The Mass Effect Series
There are27 romance options throughout the Mass Effect series. So, ME hasmore potential love interests than Dragon Age.
It’s worth pointing out that Mass Effect has four main games, while Dragon Age only has three.
The number accounts forboth the significant relationships and short flings. Therefore, the likes of Sha’ira, Samara, and Kelly Chambers count despite not being substantial romances.
Morinth, on the other hand, doesn’t count as a romance. This is because sleeping with her instantly kills you and serves as a critical mission failure. As a result, it can’t technically happen in the canon because Shepard features in the next game.
Eight of the 27 people will only romance a male version of the protagonist, while nine will only romance a female version of the hero. This leaves ten characters who don’t care about your gender.
Mass Effect 3 has the most possible romances with 15, but ten of those are also romances in earlier games. So, only five of them factor into the total.Mass Effect Andromeda has the highest number of original love interestswith ten.
Some romances carry over through multiple entries. For instance, you may engage in a three-game relationship with Liara. These characters only count as one towards the total.
These longer romances can cause issues, though, as the gamesdon’t let you have two major relationshipsgoing on for too long. Eventually, you will have to choose a mate, or the game will lock you into one and won’t let you pursue anyone else. Yet, ifyour love interest dies, you can move on to someone else.
