Dead by Daylightis currently a game that thrives on its crossover potential, adding popular horror characters such asAlan Wake,Chucky, Pyramid Head, and many, many more. Behaviour Interactive isn’t shy about throwing an original creation in the game to spice things up though, and it’s somehow managed to outdo itself with a series of absolutely terrifying teases that have given us brief glimpses of what fans think will be the game’s next killer.
Behaviour has been releasing very short teaser videos over the past few days, but the most recent one, that was released on Friday, has turned up the scare factor to an unprecedented level. Posted on Twitter, the video features an unknown person who awakes in the middle of the night as they can hear something scampering around outside their tent in the night.
After a bit of panicked breathing, the zip of the tent slowly begins to open, before an absolute monstrosity bursts through the opening. you’re able to really see what follows, apart from the occasional flash of the monster’s body and face, but we can assume that they’re not having a spot of tea in there. It’s definitely one of Dead by Daylight’s creepier killer teasers, but fans are absolutely loving the new focus on horror that Behaviour is going for with this addition.
This is TERRIFYING and I hope the gameplay presents the same feeling. This will be what brings me back to the fog. Thank you for HORROR
Due to how little we’ve seen of the creature so far, fans have begun speculating as to what it might actually be. It’s a killer that is inspired by modern creepypastas and found footage, Behaviour has made that pretty clear over the past few days, but fans have yet to solve the mystery of what the creature actually is. One of the more popular theories is thatit’s a mimic of some kind, as it seems to be using the face of a human from the very quick glances we have of the creature and the human-like voice that comes from it.
Whatever it is, it’s shaping up to be the scariest killer that Dead by Daylight has added in quite some time, so it’ll be nice to see people scared out of their wits while wading through The Fog once again. With how much Behaviour has been teasing this killer over the past few days, we’ll likely get a picture of what the thing is in the coming days.
