In the fourth chapter ofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the party reaches Junon, the sprawling port city separated the eastern and western continents. Political parades clash with personal ambitions. There’s even a dolphin. This is a big chapter.
With this guide, we’ll provide an overview of what you’ll find in the Junon region. We’ll then dive into Under Junon, followed by the main event in the city proper. Expect the unexpected in ‘Dawn of a New Era’, but if there’s one thing you can count on, it’s this: there is a veritable ton of content to tackle in Chapter 4.

Undercity
You’ll start this big chapter off just outside theMythril Mine. From the jump, you can begin to explore the vastness of teh Junon region, but if you want to progress the plot a bit, follow the path filled with robed men.
It’s pretty much a straight shot to theentrance to Under Junon. On your way in, a cutscene will introduceRhonda, the mayor of Junon. She’ll factor into the main story as well as a couple of side quests.

When yourparty splits up, seek them out to strike up conversations. Do this enough, andyou can retreat to the innto progress the story some more whenever you wish.
There areQueen’s Blood players and shops filled with new items, so don’t be too hasty! Especially if you want to win theQueen’s Blood Tournamentin Chapter 5; you’ll want new cards while you can get ‘em.

No sooner does Cloud reach the innkeeper than a cutscene leads directly intothis chapter’s first boss fight against Terror of the Deep. As is customary in our FF7 Rebirth chapter walkthroughs,we have a complete guide.
For the gist, though:use Thunder (and Thundara/Ramuh if you have them), and havingBarretin your party will ease your issues with Terror of the Deep’s long-range shenanigans.

It’s Dolphin Time
Swim to shore, watch the scenes, and when you return to the inn, venture near Aerith’s inn room to overhear a conversation; then, grab a new weapon for her, Empress’s Scepter, from inside the room. A fewaffinity-building dialogue choicesfollow. Here are theoptimal answers:
The following day, we’ll seeYuffieagain - as well asRoche!5,000 gil richer, andnow is an excellent time to commit to Junon region side content. After interacting withMr. DolphinperPriscilla’s request, we’ll belocked out of these parts for a while.

When you’re ready to get this dolphin show on the road, prepare for amini-game in which you must chart a course across a watery area. To perform well enough tobuild up speed so that Cloud can reach his destination, do the following:
This mini-game will return later in the game with a few new rewards!

Drafted
You’ll be given a fewbutton promptsin the tanker to help Cloud’s friends up to new heights. Afterward, we’re officially topside!Head left in the corridor, where everyone will regroup, and snag theHi-Etherfrom a treasure chest beside a vending machine.
Carry on, and when youarrive in a huge area with squads of troopers practicing for the parade, linger a while to listen tolots of ambient dialogue.

There’s a lot of dialogue in this portion in general, really; and it’s all worth listening to for some added depth to the narrative.
We’ll be takingtwo elevatorsnext. A cutscene will trigger between them, andyou will traverse a linear corridorfrom the first to the second. You’ll soon besplit up; Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa will be yours to command. Enter the next room, andturn back to find Cloud’s new garb.

Exit the roombut prepare to be interrupted. We’re officially conscripted for the parade performance.Practice this mini-game as often as you feel the need to do so, because while you’ll be able to restart themain performancefrom the beginning as needed, you’ll want the basics down.
If you’ve played FF7 Remake (and you should!), a good note of comparison for the Junon Parade mini-game is the Honeybee Inn sequence. They both employ similar rhythm mechanics.
Recruitment Quota
Well, that was a quick promotion.Head out of the room, reuniting with Aerith and Tifa, and thenexit the area to arrive on Junon’s main street. Take it all in - this is a cool place, especially the backstreets!
We needat least five squads of Seventh Infantry troopersin order to perform at the parade. But why settle for five when we can findall ten? Let’s get down to business.
A guide is pending that will cover the recruitment sequence in richer detail, including screenshots for each of the ten locations!
The Main Road
From thestarting point, head up the steps which face the seaand move down-camera towardthe first group of soldiers.(Note that you’ll see many soldiers whoaren’tSeventh Infantry - they’re just here for atmosphere… and to confuse you.)
With the first team in the bag - or rather, following us, neat! -return to the road and head on over to the Rufus Shrina cardboard cutout. The soldiers will ask you tosnap a photo for them. Doing so will recruit them.
You will eventually acquire theRufus Shinra Cutoutkey item, which serves as one of Johnny’s 88 curios. We’re not sure if you get it by default, or if you only get it if you take a decent pic, sotake care with that camera!
The Side Road
Chat everyone up here however much you like, butwhen you’re ready to recruit more soldiers, turn right across the road on to theotherroad.
We’re calling this the ‘side road’, though an argument can be made that it’s a second main road. It’s chock-full of shops and such, and eight of the ten groups are here. Here’s where you will find them all:
Rebels On Parade
With all ten squads gathered (or fewer, if you gave up),report to the commander, who is waiting for you at the very back of the main road. Tell her you’re ready, and enjoy the scenes.
Much like the recruitment stage, we have a guide pending for the parade itself, but for now, know thatif you want the most challenging lineup, you must choose Flametroopers/Riot Troopers/Grenadiers.
If you do well enough in the parade mini-game,Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa will win the initial awardin the ceremony that follows. If youdon’t, you’llgo to Roche. But hey, good for Roche.
You’ll soon be givencontrol of Yuffiefor the first time, not counting Intergrade.Navigate Yuffie straight ahead and up the ladders, and when the game prompts you to ‘take the shot’,time your button presses so that the yellow icon pops up three times.
More scenes follow, general chaos ensues, andwe’re back as Cloud. He’ll havea number of Seventh Infantry soldier pals as allies. We advise you tokeep them alive, not just because they’re nice people; but also becausethere’s a heartwarming scene at the end of the area.
Keeping them alive isn’t as hard as you might expect, either. Justtop off their HP with Potionsfrom time to time. There’s ample opportunitiesbetween battles.
TheJ-Unit SweepersandDeathwheelsare your main threats in this linear zone. Give your newRune Bladea test run - you should have snagged it near the Rest Stop and Vending Machine! - as youcast Thunder/Thundarato make quick work. UsePunisher Modefor Deathwheels.
In thefinal battle room for Chapter 4, Cloud goes head-to-head against Roche. Or rather, head-to-motorcycle.Follow our boss guide on beating Rocheto wrap up Chapter 4 and set sail across the continents!
