While CD Projekt Red may have turned its attention to The Witcher series now that Phantom Liberty is out of the door, it doesn’t mean that it’s completely abandonedCyberpunk 2077. Updates are still rolling out for the title fairly regularly, fixing up bugs and polishing off certain things that fans take issue with. One such patch was released not too long ago, and it’s bad news for those of you who have grown accustomed to braining a drunk person every now and again.

According to the game’slatest patch notes on Steam(thanksPCGamer), Update 2.11 has made it so the police system will properly register your evil deeds when you pop a bullet in the head of someone who’s drunk or using a braindance. Previously, it seemed as though the outright murder of someone clearly intoxicated prevented Cyberpunk 2077’s police from doing their jobs properly, which is probably the strangest form of prejudice you could realistically come up with.

Take out a drunk person now, and you’ll have the Night City Police Department rightfully gunning after you, so maybe think twice before you see someone staggering down the street. Of course, this patch wasn’t solely aimed at tackling Night City’s issue with drunk people, as it’s also fixed a bunch of issues fans have had for a little while now.

For starters, the biggest fix is all to do with melee finishers, as fans had been reporting certain animations when attacking with melee weapons weren’t triggering. CD Projekt Red says that those have been fixed now, as have a bunch of other small issues such as floating loot and potentially getting killed by a quickhack while berserking.

As for the future of the Cyberpunk series, we know that development has shifted onto its sequel, though there’s no telling what it will look like or when it will actually launch. We have had some interesting hints from devs and fans though, as CD Projekt Red CEO Michał Nowakowski recently said thatthe studio is “considering” a multiplayer aspect for the sequel, though it’s not a guaranteed addition right now.

Fans alsothink that they’ve figured out the sequel’s setting, as a series of posters in the game referencing Chicago seem to have been made much more prevalent following Cyberpunk 2077’s big Phantom Liberty update. These posters also mention that whatever is being built is coming in 2080, so let’s hope that’s a tease for the name of the game rather than the actual release year.
