InWarhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, you’re stepping into an incredibly intense universe where every decision and piece of equipment can mean the difference between victory and getting stomped into space dust. Each weapon in the game has its strengths and ideal applications, and part of the strategy is to equip yourself and your companions with the right tools for the mission at hand.
The weapons you choose will depend on the adversaries you expect to face, the terrain you’ll be fighting on, and theoverall strategy you wish to employ. Nevertheless, these weapons will ensure that you and your crew will not just survive, but dominate the battlefield.

10Foehammer
The Foehammer is a sidearm that stands out for its performance. It merges the straightforward shooting style of a pistol with the impactful blast of ashotgun. This weapon is particularly useful in clutch situations.
A well-placed shot can provide the necessary force to push the enemy back, creating space for your ally to maneuver and preventing the enemy from making free attacks as your ally moves away. For those looking to enhance their combat effectiveness while enjoying the storyline, securing the Foehammer is a strategic move.

9Sworn Protector
When you’re sizing up your arsenal for mid-range engagements, the Sworn Protector is a weapon that may quickly become a favorite. Its versatility and power make it ideal for handling enemies that are neither too close for comfort nor too far to hit accurately.
The Burst Fire capability allows for a rapid succession of ten shots before a reload is needed, which is a game-changer during intense firefights. The weapon’s armor penetration capability is another great addition. With a 30 percent chance to punch through enemy defenses, those tough-to-crack targets suddenly become much more manageable.

8Nullifying Shotgun
Players who excel in close-quarters combat often rely on shotguns for their devastating impact. Among these, the Nullifying Shotgun distinguishes itself as a particularly formidable weapon. Securing the weapon means obtaining a significant boost to a player’s close-range arsenal, allowing for a more aggressive stance in the thick of battle.
It delivers damage that exceeds what you would expect from a conventional shotgun, along with the added tactical advantage of being able to knock back opponents. With strategic use, this weapon can turn the tide by scattering tight enemy formations and creating opportunities for further offensive action.

7Wraithbone Staff
Wraithbone material is known for its psychic conductivity. The staff is a great choice for any Psyker who likes to mix it up in melee combat. The cherry on top of this two-handed weapon is the special ability it comes with called Consign.
It enablesthe Psykersto stay in the fray longer and utilize their psychic abilities without the constant worry of Veil Degradation, thus enhancing their combat effectiveness and sustainability. However, Wraithbone Staff is reserved forcharacters like Idira Tlasswho have honed their psychic skills without the Imperium’s official sanction.

6Ancient Force Sword
Ancient Force Sword is also amelee weaponfor Psykers. The beauty of this sword lies in its synergy with the wielder. Its damage impact increases with Psyker’s Psy Rating. Because of this, it can be extremely potent in the hands of the right character, synergizing with their psychic abilities to create effects no ordinary weapon could achieve.
With robust base damage and a 30 percent armor penetration, it’s a force amplifier. In the game, the Ancient Force Sword is tucked away, and you can only find it if you solve a puzzle related to Khraves statue found in the Unidentified Ruins of the Dead World.

5Inferno Pistol
Melta weaponsare known for their intense heat that can burn through almost anything. The Inferno Pistol is a powerful handgun you may grab early in the game. The catch is, it can only fire three times before you need to reload. However, those three shots are more than enough to make a big impact on your adventure.
And here’s a pro tip: whenever you can, use the area-of-effect (AoE) blast setting. It allows you to hit multiple targets at once with explosive force, which is way better than just zapping one enemy at a time with the Single Shot option. This feature turns the Inferno Pistol into a crowd-control powerhouse.

4Scorpion Sting
The one-handed melee weapon is designed to deliver a little extra kick that goes beyond the immediate impact. Its poison damage capabilities have a reputation for taking downbosseswith just a few well-placed hits. Plus, it’s not just about offense; wielding the Scorpion Sting also improves your defensive game.
Scorpion Sting increases your defensive capabilities by improving your chances to parry incoming blows. It’s a Drukhari weapon, making it not only a powerful addition to your arsenal, but also a milestone in your in-game journey.

3Precise Bolter
Precise Bolter is what you’d call a top-tier tool for distance shooters. It’s a variant of the standard bolter, well-regarded for its reliable performance in battle. This particular bolter excels in its ability to hit targets at a distance with improved precision, thanks to a ten percent increase in hit chance during burst fire mode.
This allows for multiple shots in quick succession. It’s worth noting that while the Precise Bolter is a king at range, it’s not the heavyweight champion when the enemy is right in your face – that’s when a weapon like the Sworn Protector might outshine it.

2Multi-Melta
The Multi-Melta in Rogue Trader is aheavy-duty weapon. It’s something you’d use when you’re up against the bosses that your regular guns just can’t seem to dent. Characterized by a 60 percent armor penetration rate, the Multi-Melta thus facilitates a tactical advantage.
Moreover, the Multi-Melta’s area attack capability provides a tactical option for engaging multiple adversaries simultaneously, thereby enhancing its utility in combat situations where enemies are clustered together. However, the weapon is also noted for its single-shot attack, which consumes three action points (AP). So, it requires careful aim and strategy to use effectively.

1Melta Ultima
With an armor penetration rate of 75 percent, Melta Ultima is among the best in the game for that purpose. Unlike the Multi-Melta, the Melta Ultima is a bit more action-point efficient. This can make a noticeable difference in the heat of battle, allowing for a more dynamic approach.
This particular weapon has been tweaked by the Adeptus Mechanicus, the game’s factionof tech-priests, to hit harder and reach further than your standard melta. However, it cannot be used by characters with Adeptus Astartes, Aeldari, or Drukhari equipment. To add the Melta Ultima to your arsenal, you’ll have to embark on the Flame in the Dark quest.
