Summary

World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm has been a refreshing change to the decades-old videogame. A new game mode, separate characters with no previous power, and, crucially, brand-new spells. If you’re an experienced WoW player, some of the abilities you’ll find in Plunderstorm will be familiar, but none of them are exactly the same as their retail WoW versions.

This means that if you learn the best spell combos in the game now, you’ll have done it faster than most of the other players. Here are our choices for some of the deadliest and most effective spell combos you can use totake the Arathi Highlands by storm.

World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Steel Traps Placed On The Ground.

We decided to keep the combos as pairs of spells to make them easier to find. Ideally, especially if you are trying to getyour victories in, you’ll have all four spells working as a combo. With that being said, you need quite a bit of luck to achieve that, while finding a pair of spells isn’t that hard. You have enough options here to likely get at least a good combo going in every single one of your games.

6Star Bomb And Steel Traps

The Nuke

We rarely recommend Star Bomb as a spell, especially for solo players, but using it with Steel Traps turns it into one of the deadliest combos in the game. The plan is simple: you close the gap (or lure the enemy into you), drop the steel traps, and start casting Star Bomb as soon as they’re caught.

If you do the combo correctly, and they don’t have immunity spells, they’ll be near death instantly. With that being said, be careful when using this combo as a solo player because Star Bomb leaves you very vulnerable with its long cast that slows you down.

World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Storm Archon’s Fire Cast.

5Storm Archon And Windstorm

The Fury Of The Elements

Unlike Star Bomb, Storm Archon is one of the safest offensive spells in Plunderstorm. you’re able to recast twice, you can keep moving at your normal speed the entire time, and it deals quite a bit of damage. What’s the downside? It is very difficult to hit, especially with all three casts.

That’s exactly where Windstorm comes in. If you hit the stun tornado onto your opponent, you’ll get at least two casts of Storm Archon that will not miss, and maybe even a third if you’re quick enough at hit-confirming the stun. This is a massive damage combo with a lot of range, but it requires you to be accurate with at least your first cast.

World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Player Using The Slicing Winds Spell.

4Fire Whirl And Slicing Winds

Infinite Mobility

If you don’t trust your aim that much, this combo has you covered. Both of these spells work around your character, and the only one you theoretically have to aim is Slicing Winds. You should start with it to close the gap and, ideally, hit your enemy in the process. Once you’re on top of them, just cast Fire Whirl and burn them to a crisp.

You have so much mobility with these two spells that you can either forego mobility-focused utility abilities or double down and have a ridiculously mobile kit. If your enemy has good disengagement tools, like Steel Traps, you will have to be patient with your casts, or you risk wasting them while being stuck.

World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Earthbreaker Spell Being Cast.

3Earthbreaker And Searing Axe

What Goes Up, Must Come Down

This is a hard combo to land without an extra source of crowd control (CC), but it will likely one-shot anyone you’re able to land it on. These are two hard-hitting spells that require no aiming whatsoever if you pull them off right. You just cast Earthbreaker while moving towards your target, and instantly use Searing Axe as soon as they’re stunned.

The downside of this combo is that you either need a CC spell in your utilities or you third-party fights and you’ll need to slam people when they’re out of movement abilities. If you’re mostly playing duos, just verify your teammate has a good immobilizing spell and you’ll be fine.

World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Mana Sphere Flying By Enemies With An Orange Arrow Pointing At It.

2Mana Sphere And Rime Arrow

Annoyingly Effective

This is a bit of a difficult combo to pull off, but if you do it well, it will make your enemies fume with rage. Unlike all the other combos shown so far, in this one, you never want to be even remotely close to your enemies.Your spells don’tdeal that much damage, but they have an absurd range.

Rime Arrow can never miss, and while Mana Sphere can be a bit tough to land, if you’re far away enough to fully cast it, it becomes much easier to do. The plan is to infinitely kite your opponents while throwing the two spells at them constantly. Rime Arrow will prevent healing and Mana Sphere knocks them away from you. A ranged menace.

World of Warcraft Player With Faeform Running Away From Enemies.

1Faeform And Lightning Bulwark

Frustratingly Durable

Offensive tools are great, but lacking good defense will get you killed a lot in Plunderstorm. This defensive combo of utility spells will make you nearly unkillable if used well. Using these two spells well requires a bit of knowledge about the game, but it is something you can achieve quickly.

Lightning Bulwark will be used to block highly damaging, yet reactable spells. These will often be Star Bomb, Mana Sphere or Searing Axe, for example. Faeform should exclusively be used to remove CC with its immunity, likely denying most of your enemies' combos. Get a couple of damaging spells to pair with these two, and you’ll be a menace.
