Mixing and matching skills to craft the most powerful jobs is the best way to get ahead in the world ofLike A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. We’ll take you through every job and outline what skills they would benefit from most, and what skills would make them even more potent.
Naturally, we will break down every job and what skill they would benefit from most. We’ll also point out some skills that should be considered formostjobs. The two things we are looking to do is outline skills that help mitigate a class’s weaknesses, as well as highlight skills that synergize particularly well with another job’s strengths. At the very least, this guide should be able to give you some ideas.

Updated February 22nd, 2024 by James Kennedy:This guide previously had a pretty notable weakness, in that it didn’t cover the starter jobs. Even though many of these classes are fairly balanced, allowing players to make them whatever they want to be, many of them still have notable pitfalls and weaknesses. So, we’ll largely be focusing on filling those gaps with inheritable skills!

There are a few skills that we aren’t going to mention specifically, as you should always keep them in mind. One of these is the Host’sCoercive Shoutand the Action Star’sRelentless Dragon’s Dancewill double your next magic skill or physical skill’s attack power for 20 MP. That means that it is always worth doing for expensive skills. So, every magic build should consider addingCoercive Shoutand every physical attacker build shouldconsider addingRelentless Dragon’s Dance.Especially once you start unlocking those more expensive abilities.

Additionally, if you are using a job with physical attacks,War Cry(for men) orLuscious Guillotine(for women) will help increase your damage. Meanwhile, magic users can useHarmonius Hula(for women) orWonder Cocktail(for men) to do the same for their magic attacks.
On the other hand, every female party member should seriously consider having theSubstitution Jutsuskill, as it gives your team a tremendous amount of flexibility, and allows your party member with the best skillset for the encounter to have multiple turns. Additionally, theMask of Punishmentwill attack three times for a single cast. So, every magic user should have that one, and it is probably even worth having on the non-magic users.
Spell Choice Considerations
When suggesting elemental spells, we often go back to the same three:Jellyfish Juice,Medium Well, andSparkling Splashfor men, andCandle Rush, Power Wash, andVital Vibrationfor women. That isn’t because these are the absolute best spells, it is because they are cheap and easy to acquire. Absolutely feel free to swap these out for more powerful, more expensive spells of the same type.
While a skills power rating will give you a feel for how hard it hits, but it is all relative.A “Light” attack will still doveryrespectable damage.
Starting Job Synergies
When it comes to Skill Inheritance and starting jobs, things can get a little interesting. Many of these jobs are extremely well-rounded, which means that they can sorta be whatever you want them to be.Some starter jobs do still maintain a traditional archetype, so those are the jobs that we will give the most attention to. However, we’ll provide every job with a few suggestions.
Aphysicalattack that can increase yourattackpower
Arangedattack that damages enemies and carries thefireelement
The Freelancer Job only has physical attack skills, which makes sense, as the Freelancer’s magic stat is pitiful. So, we recommend doing what the Freelancer does best, and mashing enemies with physical attacks. Since the Freelancer doesn’t have any ranged attacks, we’ll give him theBurning Arrow, which is also a solid attack for hitting groups of enemies. We’ll also give him theCollapsing Chairattack, as it willfurtherenhance Kasuga’s strength. Make the buff boy evenmorebuff!
Amagicattack that dealswaterdamage and can inflictcold
Amagicattack that deals firedamage and can inflictburn

Amagicattack that dealslightningdamage and canparalyze

45 MP
Seeing as how the Hero class has such balanced stats, it makes sense to outfit him with a magic spell of each type, that way he can be a high-utility character. We are suggestingSparkling Splashfor water,Medium Wellfor fire, andJellyfish Juicefor electricity as those are the easiest spells of each type to acquire, but you’re able to swap them out for any spell of that element type.
Aslashingattack that will damage an enemy greatly if they arebleeding.
Flattening Pan
Chef
A physical attack that deals extra damage to enemies afflicted withstatus ailments
30 MP
While the Dragon of Dojima job has a very solid magic stat, so it would make sense to give him different spells for each element, his MP is pretty piddly, so that feels like a not-great use of his Inheritance slots unless you are giving him accessories to buff his MP pool. So, instead, we recommend going with something like theFlattening Pan, which deals more damage to opponents afflicted with status ailments (something Kiryu’s skills are good for). andShadow Cleave, which will deal considerably more damage if your enemy is bleeding (another thing Kiryu has skills for).
A physical attack which may increase youragility
Boostsdefensefor you and your nearby allies.
Here we go, a job that has a strong emphasis on physical attacks, and sturdiness, and is balanced by having low agility and a weak magic stat. We’ll start by suggesting you pick up theRapid Dance Kick, as it is a good way to deal damage while speeding Adachi up. Next, we’re going to pair Adachi with theHeart Drumskill to boost his defense, and theMask of Fertilityskill so that he can gradually recover HP. That’s right, we’re making the tank even tankier. Why? Because Adachi can use hisSlick Tongue skill to cause rage and draw their attention. This setup will make Adachi impenetrable!
Amagicattack that dealswaterdamage to a group and can inflictcold
Easy-peasy. Nanba’s Homeless Guy job comes with great healing abilities, and a number of fire attacks. So, we’ll give him theJellyfish Juiceattack and theIce Spreaderso that he can have potent ice-based and electricity-based attacks. We’ll also give him theHeart Drumto help compensate for his weak defense. Of course, feel free to explore any of the available magic spells:the Homeless Guy job will makeeverymagic attack powerful.
Maximum Flair
Breaker
An attack that applies your weapon’s attributes and has a chance of boostingwillpower
The Hitman job is good at attacking, but is inherently weak, with low HP, defense, and willpower. So, well give Joongi theHeart Drumability to increase defense, theMaximum Flairto improve his willpower, and theMask of Fertilityto give him a consistent source of HP. Those abilities will cover his weaknesses nicely!
Tomizawa’s Cabbie class has the exact same weaknesses as Joongi’s Hitman class. So, if you are looking to round his corners off, you’re able to do the exact same thing we recommended doing with Joongi’s job. We’ll enhance his defense with theHeart Drum, his willpower with theMaximum Flair, and then give him the ability to apply a slow drip of healing with theMask of Fertility.
The Cabbie’s attack and magic are both solid, so you can slap any offensive skill on him and he will make good use of it. Better yet,he has a ton of MP, so you can load him up with expensive abilities.
The Gangster job has all the same weaknesses as the Cabbie and Hitman jobs. However, it also has abilities that compensate for these weaknesses. We don’t have to give him the Mask of Fertility ability, as hisFresh Dim Sumability does the same thing for cheaper! Meanwhile, he can use hisDragon’s Vortexskill to increase his defense. We still recommend giving him the Maximum Flair ability, though, as he doesn’t have a skill to compensate for his extremely low willpower.
We recommend investing in theWild Lassoability, as being able to Silence his foes will make him far more likely to live to see the end of the encounter.
Watermagic spell thatremoves all buffs
Iron Matriarch
Housekeeper
Firemagic attack that hits a group, has a small chance of causingburn
Physical attack withelectricitythat willlower defense
Removes status ailmentsfor all allies
The Heiress is another job with super evenly distributed stats. However, she does favor speed, and does have a lower-than-average defense. She has a number of physical attack skills, can charm, and she has some excellent healing abilities, which includes herAperitifsskill, which will cure debuffs.
You are free to experiment with a number of abilities, as she is reasonably strong everywhere that isn’t defense. We recommend giving herScum Scraper,Iron Matriarch, andVital Vibrationso that she has a spell for each elemental weakness, and then rounding it all off with theMiraculous Voicehealing spell so that she can heal both status ailmentsanddebuffs.
Afireattack that hits a small group and may boost youragility.
Seonhee’s Assassin job has lower-than-average MP and Defense. So, since there is no skill available to the female characters that can raise their defense, we’ll focus on making her high agility even higher. TheWinged Kunaiwill do this nicely and it only costs 10 MP! It is true that the Assassin class has theBreakneck Heel, which can already do this, but it costs twice as much MP. Beyond that, we’ll give her theScattering of Flowersability as it is a highly effective fire attack that will buff her agility. It costs a decent amount of MP, but it is worth it.
Recovers HPfor Saeko and nearby allies.
The Barmaid job comes with a few familiar weaknesses. Most notably, Saeko’s job has low HP and low defense. Thankfully, she can lower the attack of enemies by using her Sly Pose. So, all we need to do is address her low HP, which we will do by giving her theCoconut Shower, so that she has access to a heal. As the Barmaid class already has a fire and ice spell, we recommend giving her theVital Vibrationskill, as that way she will have a skill for all three elements.
Beyond that, Saeko has well-rounded attack stats, and incredible MP. So, like Tomizawa, you can load her up with your favorite attack skills!
A damagingmagicattack that inflicts theblindailment
With the Sujimancer having such a strong Magic stat, and also having access to every element, you will want to double down on their strengths. The Sujimancer can already inflict thesleepandpoisonailments on their enemies, so, we’d suggest adding skills that inflict other ailments.Bewitching Hazeis a great spell for blinding enemies, andJellyfish Juicewill give you the ability to paralyze them.
The chef has one weakness, and that is defense. Outside of that, the class does everything pretty well. They hit hard with both physical and magical attacks, so there is a ton of flexibility here. We recommend starting by giving them attacks of the other elemental types.Jellyfish Juiceis great for both inflicting lightning damage as well as paralysis, whileSparkling Splashis a cheap skill that can also inflict cold. Lastly, we recommend picking up theHeart Drumfrom the Pyrodancer class, as it will help with your defensive deficit.
The Breaker has poor defense as well as poor willpower, so they tend to take a hefty amount of damage. They do have skills to help cover this shortfall in theirMaximum FlairandAtlas Holdattacks, but they don’t guarantee that they will receive those buffs. Giving them an attack like the Pyrodancer’sSoul Predationthat steals HP will help them stay alive a little better.
Also, despite having a solid magic stat, the Breaker job doesn’t come with any magic attacks. You will probably want to fix that.Adding a spell of every element type is always a smart bet.
Hosts are powerful magic users, but they specialize in water magic. While they do eventually get a fire spell at rank 18, until then you should throw theMedium Wellskill on them. They never get access to an electricity spell, so, unless you are using Tomizawa or Joongi (who have electricity-based attacks in their base jobs), you will want to get them theJellyfish Juiceability from the Aquanaut class.
Additionally, this is another class that has weak physical defense,so you will want to consider putting theHeart Drumskill on them to balance that out.
Heavily damaging attack thatcangive opponents acoldand will raise yourdrunkeness
The only thing bringing this class down is their low HP. So, we recommend giving them theMask of Fertilityskill, as it will drip-feed them HP over the course of three rounds after cast. This is a class that has both water and electric skills, but lacks a fire spell. So, that is another thing we will want to give them—you may always go with the immediately availableMedium Welland call it a day.
Finally, the Aquanaut has a lot of attacks that hit a number of enemies, but they aren’t heavily damaging. This makes them better for clearing out weaker enemies than fighting tough bosses. Adding something like the Desperado’sBourbon Busteris a good idea, as it will give them a hard-hitting attack and help even out their toolkit a little.
Agrapplingattack that applies your weapon’s attributes
The Pyrodancer is the ultimate glass cannon. They have extremely high attack power, buttheir defense and willpower is frightfully low. While the Pyrodancer does get the excellent Heart Drum to help improve their defense, they don’t have an ability for improving their willpower. You’ll want to equip the Breaker’sMaximum Flairto help with this weakness.
You won’t have access to the Heart Drum right away, so you may also want to equip the Breaker’sAtlas Holdtechnique until it unlocks.
One of the big weaknesses of this class is that they don’t have access to a grappling skill. So, make sure to add one. The Action Star’sHeaven’s Fallis a good candidate to fill this role as it is cheap and available at rank one, but use the best grapple attack you have access to.
Trippy Flipper Ripper
Aquanaut
A physical attack that hits multiple enemies, has thewaterelement, and will increase youragility.
While the Samurai is extremely resistant to physical attacks, their low willpower makes them more susceptible to magic attacks. So, we’d put theMaximum Flairattack on them to help improve that aspect. Additionally, Samurai are extremely slow, however, we have the perfect skill to fix that. Give them theTrippy Flipper Ripperand not only do they get a water-type physical attack, but they will also be able to improve their agility.
The action star is another job with a low willpower stat, so, like the Samurai, they benefit from having theMaximum Flairability to help negate that.
Additionally, they have the Drunken Fist, which hits harder the more inebriated you get. The Desperado’sBourbon Busteris a heavy-hitting water-type physical attack that will increase your level of inebriation; that is a match made in heaven!
The Desperado hits hard, has a series of powerful skills that inflict status ailments, and has a giant pool of MP. They even have solid magic attacks and agility. So, the catch is easy to see coming. They have low HP, low defense, and low willpower. So, we are going to pair them with skills likeHeart Drum, Maximum Flair, andMask of Fertilityto boost willpower, defense, and give him a slow drip of HP recovery.
Beyond taking care of the class’s squishy nature, we’ll want to add an electricity-type attack of some sort, like theJellyfish Juice,so that he can have access to every element. Lastly, we are doing something similar to what we did with the Action Star. The Desperado will benefit greatly from theDrunken Fistas the Desperado’s Bourbon Buster naturally increases your inebriation level.
Damages a group of enemies and maycharmthem

Boostswillpower and evasionfor you and your nearby allies.
Revivesa fallen ally with half HP
The Idol is another magic user. She is, for the most part, a pure healer. However, she does also have a number of skills for charming enemies. Her Essence of Glowstick Fury attack does more damage the more charmed enemies there are. While the Idol has charm-based skills, they don’t inflict damage. So, we’ll give her the Night Queen’sSpinning Queen, as it will give your idol the ability to hit a group of enemies for damage, whilealsocharming them.
The Night Queen’sSomersault Legwill also charm, and is available at Rank 1, but it won’t hit as many enemies. Still, if you don’t have the Night Queen job leveled up, it is a good option.
As for her stats, well, the Idol is pretty weak to physical attacks. Unfortunately, there is no easy ability that will raise defense available to the female characters. However, you do have options for increasing evasion. One of these is theUkelele Strum, which will also make the idol better at withstanding magic attacks. We also recommend giving her the Housekeeper’sBreath of Life, as it will give her the ability to revive allies.
Skill that maycharmenemies and maylower their defense
Deals heavy damage to a single enemy
Damage increases with additionalcharmedenemies

This is your warrior class. She is a great physical attacker and is reasonably sturdy when dealing with physical attacks, but she has catastrophically low willpower. So, we are bringing in theUkeleleStrumto boost that willpower. If you run into a magic-using enemy, this ability will allow you to greatly improve the Night Queen’s chances of surviving the fight.
A great ability for the Night Queen to make use of is theLovedrunk Typhoon. Not only does this give the Night Queen another way to charm, but it also has a chance of lowering defense. If you can’t mitigate your weaknesses, why not double down on your strengths and crush them with the Night Queen’s heavily damaging attacks!
We haven’t talked a lot about Ultimate Skills here, as they require you to have such a high bond level, but you will want the Idol’sEssence of Glowstick Furyultimate. It works extremely well with the Night Queen’s ability to charm. That being said, this only applies to people at the end of the game.
Physical attack that has a high chance ofsilencingan enemy
The Kunoichi has a pretty interesting stat distribution. She has solid physical and magical attack stats, excellent MP, terrible HP, defense, and willpower. Thankfully, her evasion is top-notch, so she is pretty good at avoiding physical attacks. Naturally, the bigger is then her willpower, as there is no evading magic attacks, which means we are, yet again, turning to theUkelele Strumfor its buff to Willpower.
TheTwirling Beatis a great skill that will both deal damage and silence enemies. They can’t hit you with a magic spell if they can’t cast magic! Additionally, the Kunoichi has a great fire spell, but nothing for water or electricity. So, we recommend theScum Scraperspell for water (which removes buffs from an enemy, making it one of the best spells in the game) and theVital Vibrationfor electricity (this will lower defense).
There are cheaper water spells available, like thePower Wash, which is available the second you unlock the Housekeeper class, butScum Scraperis too damn good to not use the second you unlock it.
Deals magic damage and has a chance to lowerwillpower
Essence of Hell Hive
Kunoichi
Magic attack that hits a group and has a high chance ofpoisoningandparalyzing
65 MP
The Housekeeper is a very solid class. Not only does she have excellent magic damage, but she is reasonably fast, has solid defense, and excellent willpower. The only downside is that her attack stat is extremely low. So, we are going to only use magic when possible. Unfortunately, the only Electricity-based attack we can give her is theVital Vibration, which is a physical attack with electricity, but it is still good to have for attacking weaknesses.
We’re also going to recommend using theKuma Hula Corkscrewwith the Housekeeper, as it will potentially lower the willpower of your foes, helping you to really pile on the damage. Finally, If you have the final inheritance slot open, fill it with theEssence of Hell Hive, as that is a fantastic magic-based attack that will stun multiple enemies.
The Geodancer is your most powerful mage, though she is also one of the most vulnerable. So, just like with other classes who have this weakness, we recommend upping your willpower withUkelele Strum, and increasing evasion withTwirling Beatto avoid physical attacks. The Geodancer’s skills are primarily all healing-based. So, we’ll also give her the excellentScum Scraperfor water, theVital Vibrationfor electricity, and theIron Matriarchfor fire.
While the Housekeeper has great recovery skills, her only skill for healing status ailments isprettyexpensive, so you will want to give her the Idol’sMiraculous Voicefor a cheaper spell for getting rid of those.
