Summary

Nightingaleliterally transports you to new worlds in a hostile Faewild filled with unique creatures, challenges, and puzzles. One of the ways you are meant to navigate these realms and survive the ever-increasing challenges is with crafting recipes.

Most crafting recipes fulfill all kinds of different purposes and interact with each other to craft every kind of item you can imagine. In your first Abeyance realm, you are able to meet your first trader and start trading for recipes. However, rather than spending hundreds of Essence Dust, you can start with the best recipes first.

8Simple Saw Table

One of the very first crafting recipes you should buy is the Saw Table. This is primarily for the specific crafting recipes it can provide that are used for almost every single other tool, building, and card recipe.

In fact, it’s suggested that you build multiple saw benches so that you don’t have to wait while you turn dozens of wood bundles into lumber, which you will require a great deal of if you want to build a sizable base.

7Simple Smelter

Although the Simple Smelter is a necessary crafting station for high level gear, especially in later realms, the only thing you need it for right away is for ingots. This is because the Upgrade Bench, Enchanter’s Focus, and Portal need ingots for crafting.

Although this means it will mostly sit unused, you will still want to be careful which ore you use to make ingots. For anything building related, prioritize Tin ore, as it is the most common and has a durability bonus.

6Simple Spinning Wheel

One of the many refining stations, the Spinning Wheel will be one of your most used stations asalmost every piece of furniture or gear needs twine. Like the Saw Table, you will also want to be careful which kind of fiber you use, as different kinds have unique stat bonuses.

You wouldn’t want to accidentally use Bound Fiber on a Hide Lamp when it can be used to increase the stamina efficiency on a Wood Axe. Of all the crafting recipes, this will need to be one of the first three you obtain to progress.

5Simple Sewing Bench

The primary way to upgrade your gear score without an Upgrade Bench, the Sewing Bench allows you to craft clothes, and eventually armor, which gives you a significant boost in stamina, health, and carrying capacity.

With this bench, the first thing you should craft is the Pack, which instantly doubles your carry weight, and will stop you from inching your way back to base after breaking three pieces of stone. Although, unfortunately, the Sewing Bench won’t become useful again until you reach a Provisioner’s realm.

4Simple Mortar Station

On its own, the Mortar station does little to directly benefit your survival and exploration, other than being a crucial tool for the Enchanter’s Focus. More specifically, the Mortar station provides you with ink that you canuse to craft cards.

However, if you have a handful of plants and a crop plot, you may turn them into seeds and replant them. While this isn’t as useful for plants you can find in your Abeyance realm, it can help you grow plants that you would otherwise have to travel to other realms to farm.

3Simple Maul

While you can get away with using a Wood Axe or Hunting Knife as your main melee weapon, a maul is ideal for most creature types, especially monsters. Its only problem is its slow swing speed, but it can arc and hit multiple targets simultaneously.

The only time it’s better to use anotherweapon is a slingbowagainst deer or other skittish creatures that run away. For creatures like bugs and automatons, it actually has increased damage compared to most other tools and weapons.

2Simple Enchanter’s Focus

While not able to craft anything useful without the help of other benches, the Enchanter’s Focus is one of the most important crafting areas for progression. Not only can you use it to craft spells, infusions, and charms, but it will allow you to make cards that open realm portals.

You should also focus on trying to unlockMinor Realm Cardsso that you can change the effects of the world and unlock hidden benefits and rewards you otherwise wouldn’t have access to. However, of all of these crafting recipes, you can save this one for last.

1Simple Umbrella

While easy to underestimate, the umbrella will likely always be a tool you keep in your hot barfor how useful it becomes in any type of realm you find yourself in. The main purpose for this is being able to safely land while also giving you enough of a boost to cross large gaps.

The other significant use is that it protects you from both rain and hail, which both hurt you and affect your stamina recovery, making everything you do more difficult. In the desert, it can protect you from the Overheating condition and allow you to travel safely.
