10Beckoning Bell
A simple bell-looking item with an intelligent purpose if used correctly. Select one enemy close to provoke them into attacking whatever unit is using the item. This is a pretty handy tool in a tense situation.
If you have units low in health, recovering stamina, or in a position of vulnerability, you can draw the enemy’s attention using the Beckoning Bell. If you’re using a unit that has the highest odds of defeating this specific enemy, it’s a guaranteed way to draw an easy victory.
9Defensive Draught
This commodity helps to increase the defense of your units for a single match-up. If your units' chances to defeat an enemy appear to be too even, this draught can help ensure that you tip the scale to your favor.
Defensive draughts can also pair well with empowering draughts, giving your unit that extra edge to ensure that, even if you don’t annihilate the enemy, you can at least push them back and leave them immobile for a while.
8Smoked Nuts
Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with how much stamina your units have left during clashes with the empire. Eventually, they will reach zero, leaving them unable to be moved. To restore stamina, you need to rest, which also leaves them vulnerable to enemy attacks.
To remedy this, the Smoked Nuts can restore one bar of stamina, enough to complete your movements, escape danger, or rest at a garrison to recover. There are food items to find around the world, but these items are the easiest to find and the cheapest ones to buy.
7Liquid Fortune
In the beginning chapters and missions of the game, gaining experience points, level-ups, and war funds for buying items is vital. Liquid Fortunes doubles the amount of EXP and gold you receive from beating enemy units for a single unit in your group.
Recruiting new mercenaries and members for the Liberation means they won’t be at the same level as characters you’ve had longer.
It gets tough fitting the best team together until you have enough Renown and Honors to upgrade them.
As a result, it’s important touse EXP boosting items to helpget everyone to the same level for battles.
This is perfect if you made the best formation for clearing out several groups of enemies, as you can gain the most rewarding EXP and currency as much and as quickly as possible.
6Empowering Draught
These valuable treats increase the overall strength of your chosen unit by 30 percent. Combined with the Defensive Draught, it can turn a close draw into a guaranteed win for further engagements. It only lasts for one battle, so choose wisely.
This is a good item to use while you’re still learning and accommodating the different classes and unit types along with understanding their strengths and weaknesses.
5Silver Hourglass
Did your favorite unit lose a battle and get knocked out of commission? Or are they exhausted, and you got them resting in a dangerous area with other opponents closing in? Then the Silver Hourglass is the solution to your waiting problem.
Much more common to find than its gold counterpart later in the game, this item significantly reduces the time it takes for units to rest and recover from a bad fight. This will get your units ready to move or retreat to the safety of the garrisons.
4Healing Tonic (S)
As you go through many battles, your characters will get injured gradually against the onslaught of enemies. You’re not always going to have a healer in your group and there will be moments when you don’t have enough Valor points to use healers in the field either.
And that’s where this nice item could come in handy. In the early hours of Unicorn Overlord, these are the weakest and most common form of Healing Tonics, but they are very effective in the early stages of Cornia and Drakenhold. This will be one of the more used items to use in the game.
3Healing Font
Healing Tonics heal a singular character that is injured from constant battle. This healing item affects the entire party, healing all the characters who are equally injured for the next engagement. This saves on using Healing Tonics that can be used for singular characters.
There are multiple levels of Fonts and Tonics. For the beginning levels of the game, the (S) forms of both healing items would be more than enough to carry your army through the battlefield.
Rather than using three to four Healing Tonics to save your team, you can use the Healing Font and your entire team will be ready for the next match-up. Healing Fonts and Tonics are all purchasable in the provisioner stores all across Fevrith and can be bought as early as Palevia Harbor.
2Revival Orb
A valuable member in your unit gets incapacitated, and they so happen to match well against your next opponent. Never fear, a Revival Orb is all you need to get them on their feet, followed by a healing item to finish up.
In a game where trial and error in tactics is bound to be the starting experience, this item is as valuable in a pinch as a Final Fantasy Phoenix Down. Revival Orbs are the priciest of the early items, but they’re bound to be the one you’ll stockpile for any emergency.
1Hallowed Corne Ash
The most important and precious item in the entire game. From beginning to end, the Hallowed Corne Ash can be stockpiled and used as early as the beginning of the Cornia missions. They are rare to come by but are one of the most precious items to find in the early hours of the game.
They are often discovered in ancient ruins and abandoned areas across the map. As you explore these regions, you are rewarded with one of these items.
Hallowed Corne Ashes are pretty much cheat items to use in the battlefield. Run out of valor to deploy units? you’re able to use Ash. Your entire unit is wiped out? Use this item to bring them back into the fray. You can even run out of time on the mission and if you are close to finishing it, the Hallowed Corne Ash can give you an extension to continue on.
