Honkai: Star Railhas a multitude of characters with a variety of different roles. Players can design their teams however they want with the characters they have. But one of the challenges of playing Star Rail characters is finding the right Relics for them.

Prisoner in Deep Confinement is a great Relic set for characters who depend on Damage Over Time (DoT). DoT characters are varied, fulfilling anything from support roles to sub DPS to main DPS. No matter a DoT character’s role on the team, even if you’re looking to mix and match, Prisoner in Deep Confinement is a really good choice.

What Are Relics?

Relics are a kind ofitemthat your character can holdthat give them additional stat bonuses.

Relics come insets. Giving your characters Relics from the same set will give your characters even more bonus effects. A character can hold up to four Relics at once.A two-piece set will give you a slight stat bonus, while a four-piece set will give you an even bigger effect.

Relics can be obtained primarily from challengingCaverns of Corrosion, though you’re able to also find a few in chests, at the end of quests, and by defeating certain enemies.

What Does Prisoner In Deep Confinement Do?

Prisoner In Deep Confinement is a good Relic set forcharacters who inflict Damage Over Time (DoT).It works even better if you have multiple characters who can inflict DoT.

What is Damage Over Time (DoT)?

DoT is a kind ofdebuff.At the beginning of the target’s turn, they will take damage. Certain elements can create certain debuffs:Physical can cause Bleed, Fire can cause Burn, Lightning can cause Shock, and Wind can cause Wind Shear.

Black Swan

Black Swan has a kind of DoT unique to her:Arcana.The more stacks of Arcana you can inflict upon an enemy, the more powerful it will become.

Three or more stacks will deal DoT Wind damage to targets andhas a chance of inflicting another stack onto the enemy.Seven or more willcause Arcana DoT to start ignoring targets’ Defence stat.

you may gain stacks of Arcana by using herSkill, Talent, and Technique.

Prisoner in Deep Confinement gives Black Swan a head start by permanentlyignoring a bit of her enemies’ Defence statbefore she can inflict seven stacks of Arcana. This is helpful not only for her, but also any other attacker on her team.

Additionally, the Attack boost the two-piece gives her is useful because most of her attacks scale off of her Attack stat.

The substats you should focus on are:

Kafka

Kafka is a fantastic DoT DPS character who relies on the help of other DoT characters to deal increased damage. HerSkillhas a bonus effectwhere it increases DoT effects currently applied to an enemy by 60 percent, while herUltimate and Technique also apply DoT to foes.

Prisoner in Deep Confinement’s Attack stat boost is generally good for herbecause she is a fantastic attacker.The more Attack bonuses she can get, the better.

Furthermore, because she is an attacker who relies on DoT to deal even more damage, the four-piece’s bonus helps enhance her attacks in this area by decreasing her enemies’ Defense stat.

Sampo

Sampo’s main function isto inflict stacks of Wind Shear onto enemies in order to trigger DoT. He’s a fantastic teammate for Kafka, who needs a near-constant state of DoT on enemies to be at her best.

Almost every ability Sampopossesses allows him to inflict Wind Shear.While his Skill does not deal much damage, it does strike up to four times and inflicts Wind Shear. His Talent inflicts Wind Shear onto enemies for three turns,stacking up to five times.Finally, hisUltimate increases damage inflicted onto enemies with Wind DoT for two turns,which is useful if you need to quickly inflict a bit more damage.

While Prisoner in Deep Confinement’s Attack stat bonus is useful, it’s not the biggest buff he will receive from this set because he doesn’t deal that much damage on his own. Instead, you will need Sampo toinflict Wind Shear on a near-permanent basisin order to trigger the Defense debuff. Thankfully, Sampo’s abilities allow him to inflict Wind Shear almost every turn.

These are the substats you should focus on:

Hook

Hook is very good at inflicting Burn onto enemies. Her Skill deals alot of damage in addition to inflicting Burn onto the target.It will also hurt and inflict Burn onto adjacent enemies. If you use her Skill after her Ultimate, it will deal more damage.

By setting up Burn DoT, use her Talent to make it more powerful. When used on an enemy afflicted with Burn, Hook’s Talent will deal 50 percent of her total Attack stat and regain five energy.

Hook is also good as a main DPS, soboth the Attack bonusandthe Defense debuff are extremely useful. Prisoner in Deep Confinement incentivises inflicting Burn onto enemies, which is thankfully quite easy for Hook.

Guinafen

Guinafen specialises in inflicting debuffs onto multiple targets at once.

Her Skill Burns the targetsit hits in addition to dealing a decent amount of Fire damage. When an enemy is Burned,her Ulitmate will deal even more damage.Make sure that Guinafen always sets up at least one Burn status as soon as possible.

One of Guinafen’s main mechanics isFirekiss stacks.Firekiss can be activated by her Talent after she has inflicted Burn onto enemies.For each Firekiss stack on an enemy,they will receive four percent more damage from any source.This effect stacks up to three times and lasts three turns each.

With Prisoner in Deep Confinement, theAttack bonus is great because it makes her Burn DoT debuffs hit harder.Furthermore, because all her damaging abilities stack off her attacking enemies she has already Burned, Prisoner in Deep Confinement’s Defense debuffs becomes even more devastating.

Luka

You will be relying on Luka to createBleeddebuffs. His Skill has a chance at inflicting a foe with Bleed,which will deal 24 percent of their damageat the start of their turn for three turns.

When you use hisTalent, the enemy’s Bleed damage is increased to 68 percent once.

Unfortunately, Luka’s Bleeddebuff doesn’t scale off his Attack, so Prisoner in Deep Confinement’s Attack buff will only be useful for Luka’s attacks themselves. Luka’s attacks are very strong though, so this Relic set’s Attack bonus and Defense debuffs are useful for when you want him to just knock down some HP.
