After the release of EX-05 Animal Colosseum, decks like Gabumon received a myriad of support in BT-15 Exceed Apocalypse in theDigimon Card Game. The set has plenty of support for old decks, and new strategies to employ based on the DigiDestined that weren’t available in BT-14 Blast Ace. Tentomon, Gatomon, Biyomon, and Gabumon all join the fray with amazing decks and even more incredible effects.
This set also includes the fearsome Dark Masters cards and their final boss, Apocalymon, a card so strong that Bandai was restricted in officially sanctioned events before the set was even released in the English market.

10Gabumon
Tons Of Draw Power!
Just like Agumon received its SR Rookie card in BT-14, Gabumon got its time in the spotlight in BT-15 Exceed Apocalypse. ThisRookieis an excellent, not to mention generic, blue card. Gabumon can give one of your Digimon the Blocker keyword for the turn, blistering your defense.
If you pair this card with the Promo Garurumon, you may draw two cards every time you attack.

Before this set, Gabumon decks leaned more aggressively, attacking Security for multiple checks while clearing your opponent’s board. Now the decks can flex onto more defensive plays while retaining the powerful draw engine of the Crest of Friendship.
9Tentomon
The Bugs Finally Get Their Spot In The Limelight
Tentomon seems like an underwhelmingRookiewhen you compare it side-by-side with the HerculesKabuterimon from this set, but when the deck comes together, it will be quite difficult to remove the swarm of bugs from the board.
At the start of the main phase, Tentomon can suspend one Digimon to give one of yours a 3,000 DP boost, but the card does not specify whose Digimon you get to suspend. Unlike BT-10 BloomLordmon, Tentomon can suspend any Digimon of the board, including your opponent’s, enabling plenty of Piercing shenanigans.

8Numemon (X Antibody)
These Slugs Will Rush You Down
The Numemon deck has always been seen as a ‘meme’ deck of sorts, but after putting on an excellent performance at the national championship of the Japanese version of the game, this deck has proved to be a strong contender in the meta.
The X Antibody version of the small slug Digimon can help you keep the pressure that Numemon is so good at applying. As long as your stack contains a Numemon or X Antibody in its sources, Numemon (X Antibody) will be able to recycle another one of your slugs from the trash.

Since most Numemon cards are level four, you can easily slot in the Promo Ukkamon for faster raising and memory gain.
7Angewomon Ace
Angel Support Is Always Welcome
It may seem counterproductive to trash your Security cards, but for this Angewomon Ace card, it is necessary and beneficial to your gameplan. When Digivolving, Angewomon Ace can trash one of your Security cards to give one of your opponent’s Digimon -6,000 DP, possibly deleting it in the process.
Its secondary effect is what makes the card a must-include in most Angel or Vaccine decks. When one of your Security cards is removed, you can recover one from the top of your deck. This makes up for the cost of the minus effect, but can also net you some extra memory, since most of the Angewomon line will gain memory when cards are removed from Security.

6MetalGarurumon
The Crest Of Friendship At Full Power
As one of the many MetalGarurumon cards in the game so far, this is one of the best ones if you want to play the MetalGarurumon X Antibody variant of the deck. This card comes equipped with Evade, which lets you suspend your Digimon if it were to be deleted to prevent its deletion.
Not only is Evade a powerful keyword for MetalGarurumon, this Secret Rare can unsuspend whenever it becomes suspended, requiring your opponent to have at least three forms of deletion in one turn to overcome the Evade.

5Quantumon
Promo Cards Give Old Decks New Life
Although Quantumon is not specifically a part of BT-15 Exceed Apocalypse, the ‘LM’ cards found in Japanese promo packs were included in this set for the English market.
Quantumon has one of the best types of removal introduced in the Digimon Card Game. This Digimon lets you get knowledge of the cards found in your opponent’s Security by placing a Digimon in the Battle Area to Security, avoiding any pesky On Deletion effects. Not only that, but Quantumon can negate the effects of the Digimon that was removed, barring your opponent from using it again next turn.

4Monzaemon (X Antibody)
More Numemon Support
Just like Numemon (X Antibody), this Monzaemon version can help the new slug deck turbo out more Numemon to keep their board presence. This fluffy little bear can play a Numemon from your hand without paying its cost. This can continue your barrage of attacks while activating amazing On Play effects.
Monzaemon can also remove pesky Digimon whenever you play another Digimon by an effect by giving one of your opponent’s minus 2,000 DP for each of yours, enticing you to play more slugs.

3MegaKabuterimon Ace
One Of The Best Redirects In The Game
BT-15 Exceed Apocalypse rounded out the Digimon Card Game pool with the remainder of the original DigiDestined partner Digimon and their respective Ace cards. Although the bug deck won’t be at full power until BT-16 whenTyrantKabuterimoncomes out, this MegaKabuterimon Ace is a great option for many green decks.
This can give one of your Digimon, including itself, a nice 3,000 DP boost, paired up with an attack redirect to MegaKabuterimon. Ace cards are a bit tricky to keep on the board, because of their punishing Overflow effect, but MegaKabuterimon Ace isn’t affected by any of your opponent’s Digimon’s effects as long as it is suspended, making it one sticky bug.

DP incresing inheritables or Tamers likeBT-11 Taigawill help pad out MegaKabuterimon’s low DP.
2Leviamon (X Antibody)
The Meta-Killer Has Arrived
The meta killer crocodile gets a new form in BT-15 Exceed Apocalypse. This massive Seven Great Demon Lord has Security Attack +2 off the get-go and once you Digivolve into it, you may delete up to three different Digimon from your opponent’s side of the board, a level three, five, and seven.
This menacing card can also remove any tamers that are giving your opponent a much-needed advantage while Leviamon is out. All of this while being able to Digivolve from the trash.

1Apocalymon
Mill Your Opponent’s Deck For The Win!
This card is hands down the best in the set. There is a reason why Bandai preemptively restricted the card to one copy per deck before the BT-15 set came out in the English market. This card’s deck revolves around the four Dark Masters: Piedmon, Puppetmon, Machinedramon, and MetalSeadramon.
Once you hard play Apocalymon, you may place Dark Masters from your trash underneath it to reduce its cost by four, while milling cards out of your opponent’s deck. Good riddance, it’s now at one.
