Thearc fired from the ARC-12 Blitzer Shotgunlatches on to targets inclose and medium rangesonly. Unlike the Arc Thrower weapon, this weapon is ineffective against long-range combat, and should never be brought in the field for this playstyle.
Theweapon comes with a 60 Recoil on paperbut in the field, itis almost negligible. There isno ammo required, and you can run with this weapon on 40-minute-long missionswithout worrying about resupply.
There isalmost a two-second animation delayafter you havefired an arc, and that is why positioning is important while using the Blitzer. Otherwise, you can get swarmed very easily if you do not retreat a few steps back after every shot.
Tips On Using The Blitzer
The fired arc automatically targets the weak spots of light armor enemies. On the Terminid faction side, the head is the weakest point and from the Automaton’s faction, the weak point varies.
For example, Hunters, Warriors, Brood Commanders, and Stalkers are all lightly armored enemies. TheARC-12 Blitzer automatically fires at their headsinstead of body shots.
On the other hand, the weaponperforms out of proportion against the Automaton faction: firing aStrider from the sides will never latch the arc on the driver. Instead, all the arc will hit the front armor and deal no damage.
Unlike the Arc Thrower which goes to long ranges and chains multiple targets, theBlitzer, sadly, does not chain between the targets. The fired arc will connect multiple targets only if they are at a medium distance, and if you’re at close range the shotgun will connect, at best, two targets.
