PlayingFoamstarsis challenging, especially as you hop into the PvP modes and attempt to win. You may find yourself getting run down by opponents as you learn the game’s mechanics You have a lot to remember: everyone’s skills, spraying Foam, reloading, and playing around your teammates.
You may wonder what strategies will help you improve at the game, letting you focus on the most important parts. Instead of hopping into matches and winging it, you can use some beginner tips to know what you should do. As you apply them, you can focus on specific parts until they become second nature to you, letting you rank up and improve.

Understand Your Foam
Foam is more than your weapon: it alsogives you ground control. Having your team’s Foam covering land provides multiple benefits.
What It Does
Slide On The Foam
you may slide on your foam, but not your opponents. This makes you faster, letting you chase enemies or retreat.
Make Tall Foam Walls
You can create walls tokeep you and your teammates safe, forcing your opponent to approach.
Slow Down Your Opponents
Yourenemies move slower in your Foam, making them easy targets.
As soon as the match starts, spray Foam to make a path for your team, letting them slide and increasing their movement. If the enemies are playing defensively, use your Foam to take down theirs and start building walls.
Thehigher your Foam, the longer it takes for the enemy to clear it out. This makes establishing your ground and stealing it from your enemies as crucial as Chilling them.

Run Away When You’re Low On Health
Your health will appear next to your character when you take damage. If you’rebelow half health, immediately run awayand find a safe spot to rest.
The most effective way to escape if someone is shooting at you is to use your Slideboard. If you don’t have any team Foam to slide on,spray the ground or use your Skillsto build Foam.

If you want to play it safe, look around the arena as you runand ensure you’re not heading toward another group of people. You should also stay near your team’s Foam, so you’re able to run again if any enemies show up.
Your health will slowly restoreafter you go a few seconds without taking damage.

Keep Tabs On Enemies And Teammates
This is a team-based game, and youshare lives during matches. However, when a character runs out of health, they can be saved by teammates before getting Chilled.
While you may know to slide into enemies to knock them out or teammates to save them, you shouldalways keep track of enemies and teammates. That way, if you notice a teammate getting low on health, you canclose the distance to save them.

If you’re close enough to enemies, slide into them to secure the kill. Otherwise, use yourFoam to cover the ground, preventing their teammates from reaching themin time.
Spam Skills Unless They’re Escape Options
Every character will have two Skills and an Ultimate Attack, souse them if they’re off cooldown. The only exception is initiation Skills or ones used to escape.
For instance, you can dive into the ground to escape or initiate if you’re playing Agito or Rave Breaker. On the other hand, Jet Justice and Soa have jumping attacks that can deal tons of damage, making them great initiation attacks.

As for other Skills, like Penny Gwyn’s bombs, you should use them immediately. Since you don’t have mana or another resource, you may as well use themto give your team more Foam.
Aim At Opponents While Close, Predict When Farther Away
While characters have different specialities, like Mel T fighting at a range or Agito fighting up close, you need tobe mindful of where your shots will land.
Since you’re shooting Foam instead of bullets, they won’t travel through the air as quickly. The arch coming from your foam gun shows where the shot will land.

If you’re close to the enemy, just aim directly at them, but if you’refarther away, you need to predict where they’ll beand then shoot.
The sameapplies to predicting movement with bomb Skills and Ultimate Attacks. They usually have a delay, giving enemies time to dodge, so you’ll want to guess where they’ll go to catch them off guard.

Use Charged Shots When You’re Low On Foam
The Foam meter next to you indicates when you’ll run out of Foam. Some characters have charge attacksthat use a good portion of the Foam, such as Jet Justice or Tonix.
While Jet Justice’s charged shot will use about half of his meter, youaren’t limited to the weaker shot when you’re lowon Foam. This lets you charge your Foam when you only have one or two shots left and launch a charged attack despite your low gauge.

If you’rein the middle of a fight, don’t worry about launching a charge shotif you don’t have time to activate it.
Become Comfortable With Four Characters
As you play PvP modes, you’ll be matched up with three other teammates. Youcan’t have duplicates on your team, so if your best character is Penny Gwyn, but someone else chooses her, you’ll need to pick someone else.
If you plan to play with others, you shouldpick four characters you like the most, so you always have someoneto play. For instance, if you prefer an offensive playstyle, you could choose Soa, Agito, Penny Gwyn, and Mel T as go-to options.
You could alsomix and match by picking two defensive characters and two offensive characters, letting you adapt based on your teammates.
Find A Safe Spot Before Reloading
You’ll need to spend a few seconds reloading when you run out of Foam. Instead of reloading in the open, you should find a safe spot to the side before refillingyour Foam.
Youcan’t cancel a reload once started, leaving you open to attacks, even if you have Skills ready. Instead, you should hide behind a Foam wall or use one of the map structures to keep yourself safe.
Look around before you startthe reload animation to ensure no one can attack you.
Play Around The Star Player
When you’re playing the Smash The Star game mode, you need to play around the Star Player. TheStar Player is assigned when your team has been chilled seven times.
If the Star Player gets chilled, you lose the match, making them the most important team member. you may try two different strategies based on your character and playstyle.
Characters For These Roles
Offensive
Try tochase down the enemy, taking out the other players. Focus on the teammates at first before going for the Star Player.
Soa, Agito, Penny Gwyn
Defensive
Stick to your Star and do everything you can to protect them. This includesbuilding walls, setting traps, and even putting yourself between themand enemies.
The Baristador, Tonix, Jet Justice
While you do this, you shouldreact to the situation to help your teamwin. For instance, if all three of the Star Player’s teammates are down, you should all run in.
On the other hand, if you’re playing offensive and two of your teammates go down, rush back to your Star Player and defend them.
If you’re the Star Player, play defensivelyand stick with your teammates. You want to try and force the opponent to act rather than putting yourself at risk.
