WhenBaldur’s Gate 3’s honour mode wasadded to the game late last year, fans were immediately looking for ways to cheese it.One of the most popular methods involves leaving someone at camp, which gets around honour mode’s perma death.

Now, some players have gotten into the habit of constantly leaving one party member behind, so they can get Withers to revive anyone who’s killed in battle. Yet it seems like the game is wise to our tricks, as some players say that they’re having their entire party forcibly teleported into difficult encounters, stopping them from ensuring that they can’t be killed.

This was spotted by Reddit user Specialist-Walk881, who is warning other honour mode players that this fan-favourite trick doesn’t always work.

“Certain fights will literally drag your fourth party member out of camp and into the middle of combat,” says Specialist-Walk881. “I learned this the hard way when Shadowheart with 1 first level spell slot left was brought into the fight with the inquisitor at the crèche, and I very nearly wiped.”

Others say that this has happened to them too. In general, it seems that the trick won’t work if you’re travelling to a new area, since that will likely force the entire party back together. This might be enough to convince you to keep your party together at all times, since even if you are risking death, you’ll never have to panic about a companion spawning into a battle woefully unprepared.

If you need a hand in Act 1, you could always do what one player did, andraise an undead armyusing animating spores. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans certainly are an inventive bunch.

Of course, this method also keeps you restricted to just three party members in combat, making some encounters much harder. If you’re interested, fans are always sharing tips and tricks for making honour mode more manageable - includinga Gale strategy that lets you skip the final boss entirely. It won’t give you the best ending for the loveable wizard, but it’s an ending that unlocks the much sought-after golden dice, so it’s well worth it.

But for some players, honour mode just isn’t hard enough, for some reason. Over the weekend, we reported onthe content creator sharing their no-equipment solo run of Baldur’s Gate 3. In a TikTok video, GMWorkshop showed off their new strategy of spamming the spells Sancutary and Moonbeam to take on the challenge, and it looks like it might work.
