Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3is ending its second season with a new limited-time event and a double XP week. Vortex Decay’s Realm is the last event of the season and is fairly easy to complete, requiring players to finish any five challenges to unlock a new animated weapon camo.
Unlike the previous Warhammer 40K event, there’s no new game mode or XP requirements here. Simply complete these event challenges in Multiplayer, MWZ, or Warzone to get your hands on the new Wriggler camo and other exclusive cosmetics. But before we showcase the rewards, let’s first explain how the Vortex: Decay’s Realm event works.
What Is Vortex: Decay’s Realm?
Vortex: Decay’s Realm is an in-game event that runs from March 27 to April 3. Similar to some previous events in Season 1, Decay’s Realm has five challenges you can complete in any core playlist—Multiplayer, MWZ, and Warzone—to earn some exclusive cosmetic rewards. Earn all five rewards, and you’ll unlock an exclusive weapon camo.
Similar to the Weekly Challenge system,each cosmetic is tied to three different challenges.You only need to completeoneof the three listed challenges to unlock the event reward. Completing multiple challenges for the same reward doesnotgrant duplicate rewards or additional progress towards the animated weapon camo.
All Event Challenges And Rewards
you’re able to earnfive rewards through in-game challengesin Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone. Only one challenge must be completed to unlock the respective reward, not all three.Earning all five rewards will unlock the Wriggler animated camo for all weapons, covering your weapon with slithering worms.
Warzone
Apocalyptic – Calling Card
Land 30 kills with the Crossbow weapon or JAK Purifier attachment equipped.
Kill 150 zombies with the Crossbow or JAK Purifier attachment equipped.
Deploy 3 Portable Decontamination Stations.
Valve Replacement – Emblem
Get 15 Throwing Knife kills shortly after sprinting while using the Demolition Vest.
Kill 50 zombies with the Throwing Knife while Speed Cola is active.
In a single match, activate the Research Vessel’s UAV Tower, Decon Station, and Horn.
Get 10 kills with the Mosquito Drone or Remote Turret.
Get 40 hipfire kills with the JAK Backsaw Kit.
Kill 15 special zombies with SMGs.
Finish the Rogue Signal Public Event ranked in the top 3.
Double Weapon XP Token – One Hour
Get 40 kills with the Haymaker while using the Gunner Vest.
