Summons inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthare an integral part of the game’s combat system. These powerful allies can be called upon during combat to unleash devastating attacks, provide valuable stat boosts, and even exploit elemental weaknesses of foes.
The game offers a variety of different summons, each with its own strategic value. The choice of which summon to use is significant due to the limitation of being able to equip only one at a time per party member. This means you must consider the particular abilities and advantages each summon offers whenpreparing for battle.

Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Edition
In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, players who purchase thedeluxe edition of the gamewill have access to a unique summon called Magic Pot. This peculiar ally is not obtained through the usual means of defeating it in the Combat Simulator but is instead unlocked via the DLC Bonus menu. Magic Pot is described as an ‘eldritch jar,’ which hints at its mysterious and otherworldly nature.

When summoned into battle, an enigmatic creature emerges from within the jar, ready to protect and support your party members with its magical abilities. While the eldritch being remains inside the jar for most of the battle, its presence is still felt. With its ultimate attack, Magic Elixir, the eldritch bursts out in a display that reminds you of dazzling fireworks, and this dramatic show gives your characters an HP boost.
Pre-order bonus

Moogle Trio is another special Summon you get from the DLC Bonus menu. The Moogle Trio, as the name suggests, consists of three charming Moogles who work together in perfect harmony to assist you in battle.
When summoned, these small, lovable creatures will hover around your party, staying close by to provide support and unleash coordinated attacks against your foes. Their ultimate ability, known as Kupvalse, is a sight to behold. When activated, the Moogle Trio unleashes a dazzling beam attack that not only inflicts significant damage but also helps to stagger your target.

Starting Materia equipped to Red XIII
If you played the previous game, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you might remember Ifrit from there. Ifrit is a powerful starting Summon that embodies the essence of fire itself. This mighty being takes the form of a horned, demonic creature wreathed in flames.
Its attacks are focused and intense, making it an excellent choice if you’re looking to exploit enemy weaknesses to fire. Many common enemies throughout the game are vulnerable to fire, allowing Ifrit to make short work of them. However, some enemies, particularly bossesand more powerful foes, may possess resistance to fire damage. In such cases, you will need to adapt your strategies accordingly.

Starting Materia equipped to Aerith
Shiva is a recurring Summon in the Final Fantasy series, often depicted as an ice queen. Shiva retains her iconic appearance as a blue, ethereal figure who wields ice magic. When summoned during combat, Shiva can use a range of ice-based attacks to deal damage to enemies.
She can also cast an ultimate move called Diamond Dust, which typically deals heavy ice damage to all enemies on the battlefield. However, just like in Ifrit’s case, some enemies in the game are resistant or even immune to ice damage.

Chocobo and Moogle
Starting Materia equipped to Cloud
This Summon brings a dynamic pair onto the battlefield: a Chocobo and a Moogle, the latter being an adorable yet surprisingly formidable ally. The Chocobo’s Kick unleashes a series of potent kicks on a target, while the Moogle’s Blast hurls a bomb that damages multiple enemies at once. Their ultimate move, Stampede, deals heavy wind damage to all enemies.
Compared to other starting Summons, the Chocobo and Moogle shine by capitalizing on the weakness to wind that many early-game enemies share. This makes them particularly effective in the initial stages of your adventure, providing a tactical edge when facing these vulnerable foes.

Chadley’s VR Missions
Titan Summon stands out for its straightforwardmethod of dealing with enemiesand not relying on elemental-specific damage. This makes the Summon reliable in a variety of combat situations. This colossal being takes the form of a towering, muscular humanoid with a stony exterior. Its first skill, Mountain Crusher, involves a series of powerful strikes.
It’s a straightforward physical assault that focuses on dealing significant damage directly. Its second skill, Boulder Hurl, ups the ante, where Titan tosses a large rock at the enemy. Thus, Titan significantly increases your party’s defensive capabilities. However, there are even more powerful Summons with greater damage output than Titan’s.

Ramuh is associated with the lightning element, and his attacks typically involve electrical energy or thunderbolts. He is depicted as an old man with a flowing white beard and hair, wearing robes that give him a sage-like appearance. He wields a staff, which he uses to call down lightning upon his foes.

Ramuh’s ultimate move is called Judgement Bolt, and yes, it’s as intimidating as it sounds. Ramuh calls down a massive lightning storm that just decimates the enemies. Overall, he is a powerful ally in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, offering a mix of single-target and multi-target Lightning attacks, stat boosts, and increased survivability for the party.

Leviathan Summon is particularly beneficial if you focus on magic-based strategies. It enhances your team’s magical attack capabilities and also bolsters your defenses against magical damage, effectively serving as both a sword and a shield in magical terms.
Leviathan’s ultimate attack, Tidal Wave, deals a massive amount of water damage to all enemies on the field. In terms of resource management, its abilities do require more ATB than some other Summons, but the trade-off is higher damage output. Ensuring that you have a balanced team with healing and support will make the most of this Summon’s abilities.
Kujata typically takes the form of a large, powerful beast with multiple horns. When summoned in battle, Kujata uses an attack called Tri-Disaster, which dealsFire, Ice, and Lightning elemental damageto all enemies.
This makes it a useful Summon for dealing with groups of enemies or enemies that have a weakness to any of these elements. When you Summon Kujata, your party’s HP is significantly increased, providing a buffer that can keep you in the fight longer, even if Kujata’s attacks are resisted by the enemy.
Damage and Raise
Phoenix is a step up from Ifrit because it brings something extra to the table. Should a party member die in battle, Phoenix’s innate Reraise ability will revive them.Phoenix’s Ultimate abilityis the Rebirth Flame. This move is a thing of beauty.
Not only does it boast great fire damage, but it also heals your entire party at the same time. Such a combination is invaluable during the latter stages of a boss encounter when resources may be depleted, and the party’s vitality is paramount.
