One of the reasonsThat’s Not My Neighborshines so brightly is because of it’s unique cast of characters. The Neighbors in the game are all quirky, unique, and well-designed, providing for lots of fun exploration and theorization as you play the game.

And, since each Neighbor has so many unique features, there’s a lot to keep track of as you try to weed out the Doppelgangers in the bunch. To help you make sure that you are not reporting Neighbors to the D.D.D. by accident, we’ve compiled a list of everything you need to know about the inhabitants of your building.

If you’re looking for Nightmare mode neighbors, we havea complete guide on this here.

What Is A Neighbor?

As a Doorman with the Doppelganger Detection Department (D.D.D.) your job is toman the front gateof your apartment complex andprotect the tenants— Neighbors — from man-eating Doppelganger impersonators.

Neighbors are the legitimatehuman inhabitantsof the building where you work. A Neighbor will live on one of the building’sthree floorsand will shareonly correct informationon their documents, as can be checked in thefile folders on the rightof your Security desk.

The biggest thing to remember about Neighbors, is that theyare not Doppelgangers. As you investigate the visitors who come to your security window, you’ll beassessing their appearance and documentationto determine who really is who they say they are.

How Are Neighbors Organized?

There aretwo waysthat Neighbors are organized to help you assess each visitor. One method of organization is permanent across all playthroughs, and the other is specific to thecurrent in-game ‘day’you are working.

The first way that Neighbors are organized, is through theDaily Visitor List. The Daily Visitor List tells you which Neighbors arescheduled to returnto the apartment on that given day.

That’s Not My Neighbor: Roman Stilnksy lost his hat.

It’s important to remember that aNeighbor’s name, apartment number, and imagewill always becorrect on the Daily Visitor List.Hence, the list counts as a secondarysource of accurate informationon each Neighbor.

The Daily Visitor List willchange each ‘day’or ‘round’ that you play, and the number of visitors you get can be anywhere fromfive to nine. This information israndomizedwhen you start the game.

Some Neighbors who return to the buildingaren’t on the Daily Visitor Listbut do need to come home. To check which visitors are Neighbors that aren’t on the list, call their apartmentsto verify their story.

The second way that Neighbors are organized, is by thefile folders on the rightof your security desk. These folders are dossiers ofnotable informationon each Neighbor.

The file folders will tell you which Neighborslive on what floors, verify their document information, andgive you a photoand description of each.

The file folders are theonly 100 percent correct sourceof information you are given, and you will always need tocheck your decisionswith the information in the folders.

The File Folders are organized byfloor and room number. When a visitor approaches your window, they may hand you documentation that says what floor number and room they are from. This informationisn’t always correctbut can tell you which folder to look in.

The floor and room number in theDaily Visitor List will always be correct.

All Neighbor Information

As previously stated, all of a Neighbor’s informationis collected in the three file folders on the right wall of your office. These folders contain every piece of pertinent information you need tohelp verifywhich visitors are Neighbors and which ones are Doppelgangers.

These folders containcompletely accurate information, so you should always trust the information in the folders over what the visitor at the window tells or shows you. Some Doppelgangers willforge convincing documentsthat aren’t easy fakes to catch.

Never trust a visitor’s documentsunless you have double-checked them with the file folders or have a steel memory.

There arethree floorsin the building and a file folder for each floor. Each floor hasfour apartments, but not every apartment has more than one Neighbor living in it.

We’ve broken down the floor layout for you, as well as all of the accurate file information that exists for each Neighbor. If you’re trying tocomplete a ‘Steel Memory’ achievementrun, you may always check back here to double-check I.D. numbers or photos.
