The Sims 4: Crystal Creations Stuff Pack continues the recent trend of being a cheap pack crammed with content. Its main draw is the gemcutting skill. This allows you to craft gems and metals into a range of jewelry items your Sim can wear.
As well as new skills, there are 85 Create a Sim items, which include new hairstyles, shoes, and clothing. There are also 32 build mode items, including all the fittings and fixtures you’ll need to sell your creations. Here’s everything included in the pack.
10New Gemcutting Skill
The gem cutting skill allows Sims to take gems and metal and craft them into a range of jewelry items. After selecting what type of item you wish to create, you choose a metal, select a gem, then pick your design. There are earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings, and each has about a dozen variants to choose from. The colors will vary depending on the metal and gem selected.
you may also choose to just cut the gems into large shapes, including a skull, heart and teardrop. Crystals can also be charged in the moonlight, imbuing them with powerful mood-changing buffs that will affect the Sim who wears them.
9Jewelry Store Items
The bulk of the large items are designed for crafting gems then selling them in a jewelry store. The gem crafting table is your most essential item, but you’ll also find a large sales table. This can be used in many different locations, so you aren’t just confined to a store.
If you have Get To Work and want to start a retail unit, then you’re in luck. Alongside the table is a range of display options including three types of wall cabinet, a wall mounted shelf, and a display table.
8Clutter Items
At first glance you may wonder why you’d need clutter, but it adds some great details. There are a couple of gem cutting items as well as some jewelry boxes already full of goodies to add more sparkle to any dressing table or display unit.
One of the jewelry boxes you can even use as storage for crafted jewelry items, similarly to how a toy box works. It’s a great option for a bedroom or dressing room.
7Other Furniture
While most furniture is themed strongly, there are a handful of more versatile pieces. A beautiful desk and chair, side table, sofa, bookcase, and dining chair are all included. The bookcase also has two variants, one with a ladder.
Alongside these staples are a couple of pieces of artwork, as well as a rug, a plant, two lights, a crystal terrarium and a mirror. There’s also a moon and stars-themed wallpaper with a range of swatches.
6New Hairstyles
There are four hairstyles in total. A unisex short hairstyle is available for kids and adults in both regular and vibrant swatches. Children also get the style with the center parting and the long curly style. The split parting design has the top of the hair secured with a clip which you’re able to see from the back.
The more intricate design with rings in the updo at the back is only available for adult Sims. Technically, all can be used on male and female Sims, but the styles are not as unisex friendly as some.
5New Clothing
Alongside the obvious inclusion of jewelry is a small range of clothes. There are four full body sets of clothes, all dresses, a long skirt, a blouse, some stockings and some heels, all designed with feminine framed Sims in mind.
There are also some trousers, a couple of casual tops, some boots and a waistcoat designed for masculine frames. Most is limited in terms of unisex fit.
4Bracelets
There are ten designs of bracelet plus a failed design. They include plain bangles, multicolored bangles, and some thinner designs with small gemstones.
For those who like a more vibrant look, there are wrist cuffs and one design extends onto the finger. Each design varies in color, depending on the crafting materials.
3Necklaces
The necklace designs also vary wildly. The simplest is a tasteful triangle on a thin double chain, while the most ornate feature large gems and choker designs.
They split roughly evenly, with some small subtle gems on chains, including an adorable star design and a plumbob, up to chunky goth chains and elaborate symbols. You’ll find a design to fit most styles.
2Earrings
There are a couple of stud designs, but most of the earrings are drop style and vary from simple thin rings to large rings with gems inside. Several designs also feature two to three earrings in one, giving the illusion of multiple piercings.
The designs match those on the necklaces, and everything comes in a set, with some items being neutral enough to mix and match.
1Rings
The rings are the final piece of the puzzle, and as with other items can be made in different colours depending on the materials used. It’s more difficult to see the ring designs, but they do add a lot to the game if your Sim loves rings.
There are no eyeballs here, just a few classic bands, with and without stones, a couple of plumbob designs, and some that feature multiple rings.
