Running your own farm on a far-off planet is a wondrous and exciting experience. There’s no one to tell you what to do, aside from Piper, your robot companion, and you’re free to move at your own pace. The wildlife is friendly, and will even give you rewards for your help.
While there’s no combat inLightyear Frontier, there are challenges you’ll face while cultivating your farm. The environment is a mostly peaceful one, though there are Noxious Weeds and Slime that will interrupt your calm mornings and have you scrambling for your tools. Here’s everything you need to know to handle these scenarios!
What Are Hazardous Events?
Hazardous eventsoccur first thing in the morningat your farm. These rare occurrencesthreaten your farmand harvest, promising to make trouble andset you back days in-gameif you’re not prepared.
If you build the right Construct, you’re able to monitor the weather and prepare in advance.
Being prepared to handle hazardous events means beingready to deal with Weeds and Slimethat appear out of the sky. Theevents only last for 60 seconds, but a lot can go wrong in that time.
Noxious Bubble Event
The Noxious Bubble event will sendbubbles of Noxious Slimeto your farm. They’ll rain down havoc andleave large puddles of Slime behindif you don’t get rid of them quickly.
Letting too much Slime build up will take time out of your day, as you’ll have to clean it all up sooner than later.
You’ll need tosplash them with waterfrom the Irrigation Hose before they can reach the ground. When you splash the bubbles,they’ll drop Noxious Pods, which can be used to craft morematerials like Noxious Spore.
Weed Seed Event
The Weed Seed Hazardous Event willsend Weeds spiraling down from the sky. Not only will theyplant themselves in the groundif they reach it, but they’ll alsouproot your crops and take their placeif not stopped.
Using your Vacuum Harvester,suck up the Weedsbefore they hit the group. You’ll haveone minute to get as many as you can, and any that ground themselves should be ignored until after the event ends.
The Weeds willoccasionally drop Noxious Pods, so these events are a great way to get the materials you need forcrafting Noxious Spore and Power Core.
