The Persona series loves to include a wealth of cute little side activities in its games, andPersona 3 Reloadis no different – in fact, it’s maybe got the most optional time of any game in the series. One of the ways you can spend some of your free time with your SEES pals now is by gardening with them.
By growing crops in the rooftop garden at Iwatodai Dorms in P3R, you’ll gain access to several different and rather powerful items to bring to battle. Each crop replicates a skill and can be used during fights like normal items.

Updated on June 23, 2025:With the new DLC, Episode Aigis, adding plenty of post-game content, we’re back to update our Persona 3 Reload plants list to include info on how to grow crops in the DLC.
It’s not uncommon for Persona titles to offer a gardening aspect thatprovides helpful HP/SP replenishing items or stat boosts, but in Persona 3 Reload, there are more layers to the mechanic than ever before. Ikutsuki allows you to begin using the rooftop garden he’s been building on therooftop of the Iwatodai Dormafter the first Full Moon Shadow destroys part of the dorm when you first arrive. He shows you his handiworkon 5/25.

Here, you cangrow a variety of seedsthat will flourish into an equally impressive variety of vegetables aftera set growth time for each crop. Once it’s planted, however, if you’re tending the garden alone, you don’t need to worry about it further. You’ll receive a pop-up the day your hard work has paid off and is ready to be harvested, andharvesting crops does not take time if done alone.
After harvesting the crops, you’ll be able touse the vegetables you’ve grown during crawls through Tartarusto do things like refill your team’s HP or SP, or even provide helpful status boosts mid-battle.

Garden With Friends To Improve Crop Yield
New to Persona 3 Reload, though, is the ability tospend evening free time gardening with your SEES teammateswhen you get back to the dorm. You’ll know they’re keen to hang out when they have ablue smiley faceabove their heads.
Anyonestanding near the stairsto the second floor of the dorms who has a smiley above their head will be willing to garden with you during that time slot. Not only will you get a fun cutscene with your protagonist and the character gardening with them, butgardening with friends improves your crop yield. The ability to do so begins on6/18, following the second Full Moon and Fuuka’s move into the dormitory.

When you harvest your veggies when the time comes, you’ll see a difference noted in its description that says it was grown with friends. Accordingly, crops grown with friends provide better boosts when used, so be sure to spend some time getting dirty on the roof with your pals. This may includeadditional healing boostswhen using the crop to heal during battle, more powerful buffs, and more, so be sure to bring a friend whenever possible to increase your crop yield.

During this DLC, you’ll play as Aigis, who remains locked inside of Iwatodai Dormitory on a repeating loop of the same day, made to fight through a dungeon beneath the dorms with SEES to get to the bottom of why they’restuck repeating March 31.
Despite that it’s on the roof, which is technically a part of the dormitory, you can’t access the planters on the roof of Iwatodai Dormitoryduring the Episode Aigis DLC, whichcan be confusing at first, since you and your exploration team through the Abyss of Time will find an ample amount of plant sprouts as you navigate through the various regions in the Desert of Doors.
After the first section of the game, you’ll unlock access toPaulownia Mall, and it’s not long later - afterthe third door, Caina- that Junpei mentions to Aigis thatRafflesia, the flower shop that’s normally taking up the storefront by the stairs at Tatsumi Port Station, is moving to Paulownia Mall. This change happens during the DLC, and it’s how you grow crops in Episode Aigis.
Junpei gives you aflier for Rafflesia, which you can bring to the shop attendantby the fountain at Paulownia Mall. She’ll immediately offer togrow up to two spoutsfor you at a time, and you’ll be able to come back and collect them after a bit more adventuring through the Ayss of Time. The same plants as the base game are on offer, and it’s a great passive way to ensure you and the team stay in tip-top shape!
