Constructing a massive army is one of the greatest joys that Unicorn Overlord has to offer. With the sheer variety of weapons, accessories, and skills on offer, you can construct units and formations for basically any and every possible situation. You’re practically encouraged to hoard units too - in addition to the 60+ unique characters you can recruit, you can also recruit over 100 generic yet highly customisable units.
Recruiting mercenaries is easy enough - once you’ve gone up a rank, you may find them at any fort or large city in the game, and they only cost a for Honors to acquire!

Basic Class Mercenary Locations
The table below lists multiple sources of these classes, focusing on the earliest locations you can acquire them.
Recruitment Locations
Fighter
Fort Rimitz, the first fort you gain access to, has Fighters.
Soldier
Fort Rimitz, the first fort you gain access to, has Soldiers.
Housecarl
Fort Rimitz, the first fort you gain access to, has Housecarls.
Swordfighter
Fort Herstann, which is to the east of Vesten Town, is the earliest place you may get Swordfighters.
Fort Thessalon, northeast of Rimitz, has Hoplites.
Gladiator
Fort Mainteneaut, south of the starting point in Cornia, has Gladiators.
Fort Thessalon, northeast of Rimitz, has Knights.
Radiant Knight
The Walled City of Eucit, unlocked after beating The Priestess, Abducted, has Radiant Knights.
Baumratte, on the east side of Drakenhold, has Dark Knights.
Cleric
Barbatimo and Fort Chandelis, which is just south of Barbatimo, have Clerics.
Wizard
Fort Veille, to the north of the starting point in Cornia, has Wizards. Fort Istania, a little north of Veille, has higher level Wizards.
Witch
Fort Groux, found on the southern edge of Cornia, has Witches.
Fort Lonteria, in the southeastern corner of Cornia, has Shamans.
Wyvern Knight
Fort Herstann, which is to the east of Vesten Town, is the earliest place you can get Wyvern Knights.
Gryphon Knight
Fort Mainteneaut, south of the starting point in Cornia, has Gryphon Knights.
Advanced Class Mercenary Locations
These mercenaries are in advanced classes - this means you don’t have to spend any Honors promoting them. They come pre-promoted!
Elven Archer
